Add Brendon Todd to the list of players making an early week exit. Todd is no longer in the field and will be replaced by Lee Hodges.

At this point, last season Brendon Todd was considering quitting professional golf and investing in a pizza franchise. With help from one-time tour pro now turned teaching professional Bradley Hughes, Todd has a revamped swing and a new life in the world of golf. With two wins already this season, Todd currently sits in the 13th position in this year's FedEx Cup race and should be in a great spot to play in the Tour Championship next week. Since the restart, Todd has four top 25 or better finishes and could very well have a shot at another strong finish for this week’s BMW Championship. Olympia Fields is shaping up to be a course that rewards accuracy and perhaps a style of golf that relies on just hitting the fairway and playing smart steady golf from that point forward. Todd is one of the more accurate drivers on tour (3rd this season), so despite his weakness in length, we could see players who rely on accuracy have a chance to be a factor. Currently projected at sub 5% ownership Todd has a proven track record of upside to make for a strong leverage pick this week's BMW Championship.

The addition of Brendon Todd to a roster pool is not exactly something that most in the world of DFS golf get too excited about. Despite a solid year Todd came in at just under 3% ownership for last week’s PGA Championship. Todd was able to bounce back from a disappointing Sunday at The FedEx to post his 9th top 20 or better finish of this season. Prior to ownership numbers coming out, I expected Todd to be a golfer that most would consider fading. Due to the overall strength of this field, Todd is trending as a very popular golfer for the week. In a very short time, Todd has emerged as a player that had played his way out of a spot on either The PGA Tour and or The Korn Ferry Tour, to now having a chance to compete for his 3rd win of the 2020 season.

After failing to play well for the second time since the restart with a lead on a Sunday, it will very easy to cross Brendon Todd off your player list ahead of the year's first major. Currently trending towards a very low ownership number for the week, it appears most in the industry are comfortable making the assumption that Todd will struggle after his letdown last week. Despite his poor showing on Sunday, Todd is still having a fabulous season and as a great driver of the golf ball, he should have a chance of playing well again this week. Perspective is a powerful thing, and despite his poor showing down the stretch last weekend, Todd has already overcome so much to be at this point. Looking to put his bad week in the review mirror Todd could be a low owned difference-maker for the week.

There is no major news to report of the 2nd WGC event of the year. The weather could be a factor in terms of affecting play, but due to the limited filed this week golfers will tee off in a narrow range of time limiting the chance for a potential edge. Projections for this week's 3M Open are now live. The five players tagged in this alert have all decided to take a pass on playing this week and have been removed from projections. This week's field is by far the weakest field since the restart. Many players will have significant price bumps in order to cover the various pricing ranges for the week. With the first WGC of the restart and our first major of the year right around the corner, it's no surprise to see many top players take this week off. It's worth noting that Tommy Fleetwood is making his first start since The Players Championship.

By now most know the story of Brendon Todd. The man who missed who once missed 37 of 40 cuts now has back to back wins on the PGA Tour. For Todd that choice to continue with golf took a turn for the better at last year's RSM Classic. Prior to making it into the event, Todd was close to finalizing a plan to open up a pizza restaurant. Todd shot 61 to Monday qualify for the event and with a made cut he was able to get more starts on Tour due to his past champion status. Todd used those starts to make it through Korn Ferry Tour qualifying school. Playing with a chance for three straight wins, Todd stands out as a very low owned golfer for the week. Momentum is a funny thing and for a change, Todd finds himself on the right side of the equation. While a win this week is even more unlikely than his win last week, Todd is clearly playing with a ton of confidence and could easily find himself in contention again.
