This dirt-cheap defenseman has three goals this month

Noah Hanifin is the best punt defenseman of the night given his talent and skill set, but do not overlook Brett Pesce. While he has a mediocre 14 points (3 goals, 14 assists) in 50 games, all three of those goals have come in February. The matchup does not get any better against a New York Islander team which has allowed the most goals per game (3.61) in the National Hockey League. Jaroslav Halak was able to bail them out last night, posting a shutout while stopping a whopping 50 saves. On the road, the Islanders will have their hands full with a sneaky Carolina team. Pesce does not see much power-play time, but he has had his share of success against the Islanders, posting a goal and two assists in five meetings last year as well as an assist in two meetings this season. Pesce should still fly under-the-radar even though he has three goals already this month.
