Brian Hartline out for remainder of season
The Browns worst fears regarding their veteran wide out have been realized as he has been ruled out for the season with a broken collarbone. It couldn't have come at a worse time for Hartline who had been emerging as the Browns most consistent receiving threat and was in the midst of having one of, if not the, biggest games of his career. Marlon Moore will likely take over the #2 WR role on the Browns but isn't a viable DFS play. Travis Benjamin should be force fed the ball even more with no Hartline and has some appeal as a mid-range option.
Travis Benjamin not practicing Wednesday
Benjamin injured his shoulder this past Sunday and did not practice on Wednesday. The team had said earlier in the week that they didn't expect him to miss any time, and he still has two days to get back on the field before we really start to worry about his status. The Browns are extremely thin at WR right now with Andrew Hawkins and Taylor Gabriel dealing with concussions, and they've gotten next to nothing from $9M man Dwayne Bowe. Brian Hartline has been a very solid PPR target in recent weeks, racking up 8, 8 and 6 receptions in his last three games. If Benjamin is forced to sit on Sunday, Hartline is a sneaky target against a San Francisco secondary that ranks towards the bottom of the league in terms of defending QBs and WRs. Benjamin himself would be an interesting tournament target with Johnny Manziel at the helm, as the two have connected on some big plays in Manziel's few appearances. There are reports that Terrelle Pryor will see action at WR this week for the Browns, which seems to indicate that they don't believe Hawkins or Gabriel has any real shot of playing.
Gabriel, Hawkins inactive for Browns
Neither Taylor Gabriel or Andrew Hawkins will play tonight against the Ravens. Both had been ruled out prior to tonight, but we now have official confirmation. Brian Hartline remains a sneaky GPP target on late-swap sites, while Travis Benjamin should see ample work as the top option among the WRs.
