Marshawn Lynch officially ruled out for Week 17
Marshawn Lynch will not play in Week 17 against the Cardinals, so his next shot to return will come in the playoffs. The match-up isn't a good one for the Seahawks committee of RBs, as the Cardinals have allowed the 5th fewest FPPG to RBs this season. Christine Michael still appears to have the slight lead in the committee, but Bryce Brown has been seeing similar usage which makes both backs unplayable in Week 17. Derrick Coleman also remains in the fold which only further complicates things. Russell Wilson and Doug Baldwin remain the two top targets on the Seattle side, but there neither are core plays.
Seahawks to continue with RBBC approach?
Marshawn Lynch isn't going to practice this week and likely won't be able to return until Week 17, so the Seahawks backfield is up for grabs again this week. While Derrick Coleman drew the start on Sunday, he didn't see any carries in the 2nd half and appeared to be outplayed by both Christine Michael and Bryce Brown. Michael had the hot hand against the Browns and finished with more carries (16) than Brown and Coleman combined for (14), so we'll tentatively put him at the top of the Seahawks RB depth chart. Michael saw most of the work in the 2nd half and ran well, but there's still the chance that he falters early in next week's game with the Rams. Bryce Brown appears to be 2nd in line for touches, with Coleman behind him. Hopefully we'll have a better idea of how the workload will shake out later in the week.
Seahawks bring back Christine Michael
What a ride it's been for C-Mike in 2015. He's now been cut by three teams (including the team that just signed him), but he may actually see his first meaningful action of the season with recently signed Bryce Brown and Fred Jackson being the only healthy backs on the roster. Brown is penciled in as the starter and Jackson will see his fair share of passing down work, but Michael figures to work in a complementary role to Brown on early downs. He's not a DFS option in Week 15, but depending on how things shake out this week, it's feasible that he works his way into DFS relevancy in Week 16.
Seahawks waive DuJuan Harris, Bryce Brown in line to start
DuJuan Harris has been waived by the Seahawks. It's a surprising move considering Thomas Rawls' injury and Marshawn Lynch's uncertain return, but for now it'll be Bryce Brown heading up the Seattle backfield. The unfortunate thing here is that Brown is not in either the FanDuel or DraftKings player pool for Week 15, so we won't be able to take advantage of this situation at all. DFS players will have to get by with the likes of Tim Hightower, David Johnson (if Ellington is out) and Denard Robinson (if Yeldon is out) if punting a RB spot.
Seattle signs Bryce Brown
With injuries to Thomas Rawls and Marshawn Lynch, the Seahawks have signed Bryce Brown to help out down the stretch run. It's hard to get a read on how the Seahawks RB rotation will go so it's a situation that will need to be closely monitored heading into this weekends game. Current backup DuJuan Harris managed only 42 yards on 18 carries so it wouldn't be surprising to see the team want to get Brown involved. The Seahawks will be prohibitive home favorites as they take on a Browns team that has been terrible against the run for the most of the season. Whomever is manning the helm at RB for the team will be a great DFS option.
