C.J. Anderson Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

C.J. Anderson Released, Paul Perkins Signed by Lions

Anderson appeared to have a role as the backup RB to start the season, getting 11 carries Week 1. However, he was matched Week 2 by Ty Johnson with just 5 carries, while Kerryon Johnson remains the clear lead back. Paul Perkins was signed by the Lions, but he should be at the bottom of the RB depth chart.

CJ Anderson Does Not Practice

CJ Anderson missed practice Thursday with an illness. He should be fine to suit up and play in the Super Bowl. He is an intriguing piece to the massive Super Bowl Showdown slate next Sunday. He has received the bulk of the work in this backfield for several games now.

CJ Anderson Sticks Around for the Post Season

Although Todd Gurley had multiple weeks of rest and looked healthy in Saturday nights win against the Cowboys, it was CJ Anderson that put up a slate-breaking performance. Of 77 offensive snaps for the Rams, Gurley was in on 43 of them while Anderson took 34. 23 of Anderson's 34 snaps were running plays (only 16 for Gurley). This could have been game plan specific for the Rams but it is something to keep an eye on in the next round against the Saints. It is also a mental note to store away if the Rams make the Super Bowl against an inferior run defense, like the Chiefs.

Justin Davis active Sunday

Justin Davis is active Sunday, creating a three-man committee behind Todd Gurley. It's sounding like C.J. Anderson will get the first crack at things, but he looked out of shape earlier this season in Carolina and may not get a long leash if he struggles. Davis would figure to be in front of Kelly in the pecking order, but with Davis banged up it's certainly possible the preseason darling (Kelly) ends up getting more work. It's tough to peg how this backfield will play out, so it's best left for GPP darts only. The LA passing game does get a slight uptick, so consider Woods/Reynolds/Cooks/Everett slightly more appealing plays.

C.J. Anderson already second on Rams RB depth chart

C.J. Anderson, not John Kelly, reportedly already second on Rams RB depth chart behind banged up Todd Gurley. This may end up being huge news in Week 17 if Gurley were to sit out. As for this week, it appears Gurley is going to start.

Raiders officially signed RB C.J. Anderson and placed WR Martavis Bryant on IR

With Bryant on IR, the Raiders will continue to feed Jared Cook, Jordy Nelson, Marcell Ateman and Seth Roberts as their pass-catching corps, a unit that lacks a ton of upside. Doug Martin is a little banged up currently, so it's definitely possible that Anderson works his way into a role this coming week on early-downs, with Jalen Richard still dominating passing-down duties.

RB Doug Martin (knee) "uncertain" for Week 14

Martin's knee injury explains the signing of former Panthers back C.J. Anderson on Tuesday. The Raiders are 11-point underdogs against the Steelers' high-powered offense on Sunday, making Jalen Richard the only mildly appealing option in this backfield, regardless of whether Martin suits up or not.

C.J. Anderson waived by the Panthers

C.J. Anderson has been waived by the Panthers. Anderson was largely ineffective all season, and saw little to no role in the Panthers offense. This changes little for the team, with Christian McCaffery handling the bulk of both the rushing and passing work out of the Carolina backfield.

C.J. Anderson returns to practice on Thursday

The Panthers running back should be good to go on Sunday after missing practice yesterday with an illness. Anderson has little more than handcuff value, but will continue to siphon away touches from Christian McCaffrey. The former Broncos back earned just three fewer carries than McCaffrey last week and should see a handful of touches against Atlanta.

A Bad Pass Offense Will Force the Ball Into His Hands

This year has been a disappointment for the Broncos, to say the least. They are out of playoff contention, but they are playing to get Anderson 1,000 rushing yards. He gets a matchup against KC, who will likely be resting their starters for most, if not all, of the game. They are already ranked 31st in DVOA vs. the run on the season and I can't imagine it getting any better with nothing to play for this weekend. Anderson has been one of the top RBs over the past two weeks, and with the entire pass offense of the Broncos more or less injured, they will continue to rely heavily on Anderson in this spot. At just $6K on DK this weekend, Anderson is a steal.
