C.J. Miles Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

C.J. Miles (wrist) listed out Wednesday

Miles has been listed out on the Wizards' injury report for Wednesday's matchup against the Phoenix Suns due to a left wrist injury, while Ian Mahinmi will remain sidelined with a strained right Achilles tendon. Miles minutes have been sporadic as a member of the Wizards' second unit, to say the least, but he did manage to record 21 minutes in garbage time of Tuesday's loss, so there will be some semblance of available playing time on the wing this evening. However, it's unlikely one specific player benefits from a significant increase in minutes with Isaac Bonga being recalled from the G-League earlier in the week.

C.J. Miles (foot) will play Monday; Jordan McRae (finger) listed out

Miles has officially been upgraded from questionable and will be available to play off the bench in Monday's matchup against the Detroit Pistons after recovering from left foot surgery. With McCrae still sidelined, Miles will assume a role in the second unit, which will more than likely relegate rookie Admiral Schofield and Justin Robinson from the rotation entirely. Additionally, head coach Scott Brooks did confirm that Isaiah Thomas will replace Ish Smith as the Wizards starting point guard, and even though Thomas won't be subject to a minute restriction, Brooks did say that he's going to be "wise" with Thomas' workload going further.

Avery Bradley (ankle) and C.J. Miles (knee) available to play Sunday

Bradley and Miles have both officially been upgraded from probable and will be available to play in Sunday's matchup against the Orlando Magic despite dealing with a sore left ankle and a sore right knee, respectively, while Kyle Anderson and Jaren Jackson Jr. each remain sidelined. Despite consistently seeing close to starters' minutes as a member of the starting lineup, Justin Holiday has been brutal from a fantasy perspective, as he owns just a 15.8% usage rate and is averaging 0.51 DraftKings and 0.54 FanDuel points per minute with the aforementioned players and all the departed former Grizzlies off the court. On the other hand, Bradley has flashed some significant upside relative to his price tag of late and owns a 23.4% usage rate with an average of 0.99 DraftKings and 0.97 FanDuel points per minute in this same scenario.

Avery Bradley (knee, ankle) and C.J. Miles (hip) will play Wednesday

Bradley and Miles have both officially been upgraded from their original injury designations and will be available to play in Wednesday's matchup against the Chicago Bulls due to their respective ailments, while Ivan Rabb was already ruled out with a sore right heel. With Jaren Jackson Jr. still sidelined for the foreseeable future, the absence of Rabb will leave the Grizzlies frontcourt relatively thin and should allow Jonas Valanciunas and Joakim Noah to see extended minutes at the center position, though Bruno Caboclo has already been confirmed as the starting power forward for tonight’s contest in Rabb’s place. Obviously, there isn’t a tremendous sample size with Rabb and all of the departed former Grizzlies off the court, but in that limited time, Conley leads the way with a 36.7% usage rate (+7.8%), and both he and Noah each experience a minimum of a +0.44 increase to their per minute fantasy production in this scenario.

Mike Conley (knee) available to play Monday; C.J. Miles (hip) ruled out

Conley has officially been upgraded from probable and will be available to play in Monday's matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers despite dealing with a sore left knee, while Miles has been downgraded from questionable and won't suit up due to a sore right hip. The Grizzlies have been shorthanded in most games of late, but Miles has still logged at least 23 minutes off the bench in three of the previous five games, so his absence does open up some minutes for the likes of Bruno Caboclo, Tyler Dorsey, and Delon Wright on the wing. Jonas Valanciunas rejoined the team prior to Saturday's loss, and he was phenomenal from a fantasy perspective in 30 minutes of action in his first start as a member of the Grizzlies, elevating him to an elite option for all formats in a matchup with a Lakers squad that ranks 26th in defensive efficiency versus opposing centers on the year.

Raptors will send Jonas Valanciunas, Delon Wright, and C.J. Miles to Grizzles for Marc Gasol

The Toronto Raptors are planning to send Jonas Valanciunas, Delon Wright, CJ Milles and a 2024 second-round pick to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Marc Gasol, effectively ruling out Valanciunas, Wright, and Miles for the matchup against the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday evening. This will lead to additional playing time for Fred VanVleet, Norman Powell, and possibly even Greg Monroe in the second unit. As for Gasol's departure, he was already ruled out by the Grizzlies due to trade speculation and means that Ivan Rabb and Julian Washburn are on track to make a second straight start after each logged at least 31 minutes in the previous contest, though Rabb was the much better daily fantasy option as he smashed his salary-based expectations in 34 minutes of action.

Kyle Lowry (rest) and C.J. Miles (hip) available to play Thursday

Despite originally being listed out on the Raptors' injury report, Lowry will play in Thursday's matchup against the Phoenix Suns, according to head coach Nick Nurse, while Miles will also be available to play off the bench after missing two consecutive games with a sore hip. The Raptors will still be without Kawhi Leonard, OG Anunoby, and Jonas Valanciunas, so Fred VanVleet will receive the starting nod alongside Lowry in the backcourt as he typically does when either Leonard or Lowry are sidelined. Even though he won't start, Norman Powell should see an uptick in playing time on the wing, and he has taken on a much larger role in the rotation since returning from a lengthy injury absence and is averaging 21.4 minutes off the bench in the last nine games. Unsurprisingly, Lowry and Serge Ibaka have been the main beneficiaries with Leonard, Anunoby, and Valanciunas off the court this season, as they each own at least a +5.0% usage rate differential and see a minimum of a +0.25 increase in their per minute fantasy production in this scenario.

Kawhi Leonard (rest), Kyle Lowry (rest), and OG Anunoby (personal) out Thursday

Leonard and Lowry have both officially been ruled out for Thursday’s matchup against the Phoenix Suns due to rest purposes on the second leg of the Raptors current back-to-back set, while OG Anunoby remains away from the team dealing with a personal matter and has now missed two consecutive games. With Leonard and Lowry unavailable, Fred VanVleet and Norman Powell are the likeliest candidates to enter the starting lineup for tonight's contest, especially since Powell has taken on a much larger role in the rotation since returning from a lengthy injury absence and is averaging 21.4 minutes off the bench in the last nine games. There's almost no actionable sample size with all of the inactive Toronto players off the court together this season, but with just Leonard, Lowry, and Jonas Valanciunas off the floor, VanVleet and Serge Ibaka have been the clear beneficiaries, as they each own at least a +5.5% usage rate differential and see a minimum of a +0.19 increase to their fantasy production per minute in this scenario.

Fred VanVleet (thigh) and C.J. Miles (hip) out Sunday

VanVleet has officially been downgraded from questionable and won't play in Sunday's matchup against the Washington Wizards due to a bruised left thigh, while Miles will be inactive with a hip ailment, though he's largely been out of the main rotation since Norman Powell returned in mid-December from a lengthy injury absence. With them sidelined, it's possible that newly-signed Patrick McCaw could join the rotation and make his official Raptors debut in this afternoon's contest. Still, even if McCaw sees the court, he'll only play a complementary role, and Delon Wright remains the clear beneficiary in terms of playing time with VanVleet unavailable. Wright isn't a high usage player by any means, but he does average 0.84 DraftKings and 0.86 FanDuel points per minute on the year, keeping him in consideration for all formats on today's early slates.

CJ Miles (groin) will play Friday; OG Anunoby (wrist) remains probable

Miles has officially been upgraded from probable and will play in Friday's matchup against the Washington Wizards after missing five consecutive games with a strained right adductor, while Anunoby remains probable due to a sprained right wrist but just needs to pass one additional test before receiving medical clearance. Kawhi Leonard is slated to return to the starting lineup for tonight's contest, which will send Fred VanVleet back to the bench to resume a reserve role following his underwhelming fantasy performance in 36 minutes of action in Wednesday's win. Jonas Valanciunas also started ahead of Serge Ibaka at center in the Raptors previous game, but the two big men have been shuffled around the rotation on numerous occasions this season and each typically sees around the same amount of playing time regardless of role.
