Cameron Meredith Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Michael Thomas (shoulder) and Cam Meredith (knee) limited in practice Wednesday for Saints

Michael Thomas (shoulder) and Cam Meredith (knee) were limited in practice Wednesday for the Saints. Keep an eye on their practice status heading into the weekend, although as of now nothing suggests either player is in danger of missing their week 9 potential shootout with the Rams. Should either player miss, it would likely mean more targets for Tre'Quan Smith, Ben Watson and Alvin Kamara out of the backfield.

Saints have placed WR Ted Ginn on Injured Reserve

The Saints placed WR Ted Ginn on IR today, meaning they'll be without him for the foreseeable future. Michael Thomas is clearly cemented as Drew Brees' top target, but Cam Meredith's value spikes in a notable way, as does Tre'Quan Smith's. Smith went off with Ginn on the shelf before the Saints bye, catching two scores and acting as the deep-threat in a potent offense, something that will continue to give him GPP appeal. Meredith isn't the same type of field stretcher, but he's a much bigger target and can certainly be useful towards the red-zone while teams hone in on Thomas.

Ted Ginn (knee) not practicing again Friday

Ted Ginn (knee) not practicing again Friday, so it's looking like a real possibility that he ends up sitting out on Monday night. That's still a guessing game at this point, but both Cam Meredith and Austin Carr would figure to take on bigger snap rates with Meredith being the higher ceiling option of the two. Ginn's practice status tomorrow will likely go a long way in determining whether he plays or not, so we'll keep you updated on that front.

Cam Meredith practices in full Thursday

Cam Meredith practiced in full Thursday and appears to be on track to play Sunday against the Giants. Due to the insanely high target shares that both Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara have had thus far, Meredith is nothing more than a touchdown-dependent GPP flier until he carves out a more consistent role in this Saints offense.

Cam Meredith active Sunday

Cam Meredith will be active Sunday for the Saints. The Saints offense is set up for a potential shootout against Atlanta, but Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara have seen the vast majority of targets for the Saints offense thus far. It is best to take a wait-and-see approach on Meredith while we get a feel for how involved he will be in the offense.

Cameron Meredith INACTIVE Sunday

Cameron Meredith is listed as inactive due to a knee injury for the Saints week 1 matchup against Tampa Bay. In a related move, Austin Carr is listed as the starting slot WR for New Orleans. Look for Carr and Ted Ginn Jr. to receive the majority of targets that aren't thrown in the direction of Michael Thomas in the Saints' matchup against a soft Bucs secondary.

Saints Wide Receiver Snaps Look Heavenly

Brandon Coleman has been cut by the Saints thus paving the way for another WR to flourish in New Orleans. Coleman played 62.8% of the snaps last season for the Saints so there is ample playing time to spread around. This decision could have been made because the Saints are confident in Cam Meredith returning from injury and returning to the form showed 2 seasons ago with the Bears. It could also mean that rookie WR Tre'Quan Smith is ready to contribute. Smith was a playmaker at UCF averaging 19.8 yards per reception his final season. It may take a couple of preseason games to find out what the Saints intend to do with the extra snaps, but the beneficiary of this Coleman cut could be a great source of value late in best ball leagues and a weekly boom or bust play in DFS.

Eddie Royal placed on IR

Royal missed the last three games due to a toe injury and now his season is officially over. Chicago will finish the season with Alshon Jeffery, Cameron Meredith, Deonte Thompson, and Josh Bellamy at wide receiver. Both Meredith and Thompson exceeded 100 yards in Week 15. Jeffery posted a 6/89/1 line on nine targets. While Barkley is certainly turnover-prone, he's thrown for over 300 yards in two of his four starts this season. Next week they have a favorable matchup with Washington and their 22nd ranked pass defense.

Marquess Wilson and Eddie Royal are INACTIVE Sunday

Cameron Meredith and Josh Bellamy are the top two receivers for Chicago today. With Matt Barkley throwing to them, they aren't going to be great options, especially against a pass defense that's been playing well. Surprisingly, Detroit has allowed the third-fewest FanDuel points per game to wide receivers over the past four weeks. Chicago has the lowest implied total on the board at 17 points. Outside of Jordan Howard, who should have a huge workload today, it's an offense to avoid.

Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson didn't practice Wednesday

Royal (toe) didn't play last week and seems to be on the doubtful side in Week 14. Wilson (groin) left their last game in the first half and never returned. If they miss this week, Cameron Meredith and Josh Bellamy would be the primary receivers. With Matt Barkley under center, expect the Bears to feed Howard relentlessly. Detroit's DST is in play this weekend; they've forced six interceptions over their last three games and allowed only 15.0 points per game in that stretch. Chicago has an implied team total of just 18 points, the second lowest on the board.
