Carl Crawford Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Yasiel Puig (hamstring) scratched on Tuesday

Yasiel Puig will not play tonight and Carl Crawford will replace him in the outfield. Yasmani Grandal will now bat 7th and Crawford will bat 8th.

Yasiel Puig is not in the Dodgers lineup

Yasiel Puig is not in the Dodgers lineup, instead batting Carl Crawford and Joc Pederson 7th and 8th against Colin Rea.

Seager and Pederson absent from Dodgers starting lineup

A number of noticeable lefties are absent from the Dodgers lineup today facing Bumgarner. Regulars Joc Pederson and Corey Seager are not in the lineup, while Carl Crawford is headed to the DL with a back issue. The right handed fill-ins are not worth consideration, but make sure these notable LAD lefties are not in your lineups.

Crawford sits, Van Slyke in LF for Dodgers vs Cain

Matt Cain used to have a talent for home run suppression, but hasn't been healthy and productive in a couple of years and the Dodgers have come out the game with hot bats. Weather permitting, Corey Seager has smoked RHP so far (168 wRC+) and is a top play at his position. Chase Utley has started out hot and provides value in the leadoff spot at second base. Justin Turner has a reverse platoon split and hits RHP better than LHP for his career (153 wRC+ last year) and Adrian Gonzalez is always a quality bat vs RHP in the middle. Park effects in one of the pitching friendliest stadiums in baseball could dampen the offensive effects, but several Dodgers are at least worth a look tonight. Carl Crawford is a key omission with Scott Van Slyke getting the rare start against a RHP.

Dodgers take aim at Cashner's 30.5 Hard% over the last two seasons

The Dodgers have come out murdering the baseball and look to add Andrew Cashner to their victim list tonight. Cashner pitched much better than most Padre pitchers at home last year (2.98 xFIP), but struggled overall despite pitching decently against the Dodgers last season after allowing 3 HRs to them in his first start of 2015. There are better choices out there for us even tonight. While not really often delving into PvB here, a couple of Dodgers have interesting numbers against Cashner, including Adrian Gonzalez (4 HRs in 32 ABs) and Carl Crawford, who has struck out 10 times in 27 PAs, but also has a 105 exit velocity and three extra base hits when making contact. Corey Seager is a top option at SS, Justin Turner has a major reverse platoon split, and Chase Utley is also useful do to his spot atop the lineup.

Dodgers have 5 lefty bats vs Tyson Ross (Utley leading off)

Tyson Ross had a 61.5 GB% last season, but allowed a .323 wOBA to LH batters due mostly to a 12.0 BB% against them, while dominating RH batters. His hard contact rate was below 25% to batters from both sides though. Chase Utley gets the leadoff spot tonight, but was terrible last season. There really any great looks on either side of this matchup as walks are better than outs, but aren't really going to win you anything. On a short slate with expensive pitching though, you can look at Utley or Carl Crawford as punt plays and consider Corey Seager in the two hole at a weak SS position tonight.
