Cheick Diallo Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Cheick Diallo (illness) listed available Wednesday
As expected, Diallo will be available to play in Wednesday's matchup against the Orlando Magic after missing one game due to an illness, while Ricky Rubio remains listed as probable but is good to go, according to head coach Monty Williams, despite dealing with a left-hand injury. The Suns are still without Aron Baynes, so the availability of Diallo will certainly provide some depth behind Frank Kaminsky and Dario Saric in the frontcourt rotation, and Diallo managed to record a minimum of 23 minutes in the two of his previous three appearances off the bench. With Baynes and Diallo unavailable for Monday's win, Williams essentially resorted to a core of six rotational players, as both Kaminsky and Saric logged at least 32 minutes of action while Cameron Johnson and Mikal Bridges helped fill the void at power forward when one of the two big men were off the court.
E'Twaun Moore (ankle) questionable Tuesday
Moore missed the last game and he's questionable for tonight's matchup with the Lakers. Anthony Davis (rest) and DeMarcus Cousin (Achilles) have already been ruled out. If Moore is unable to go, the Pelicans will likely roll with the same starting five as their last game - Jrue Holiday, Tim Frazier, Solomon Hill, Dante Cunningham, and Alexi Ajinca. Holiday will likely see reduced minutes, so he's a risky bet despite the favorable matchup. New Orleans is pretty set on getting their young guys some time on the court. Ajinca, Cheick Diallo, and Quinn Cook are all interesting value plays who have performed well in their limited opportunities this season. Jordan Crawford should see plenty of minutes as well. He's been hot lately, making 18-of-32 shots over the past two nights, dropping at least 20 points in each. Roughly 75% of his fantasy production comes from scoring, but Los Angeles allows the fourth-highest shooting percentage from deep (37.1%) and the highest field goal percentage overall (48.3%).
DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles), Anthony Davis (knee), and E'Twaun Moore (ankle) all ruled OUT for Pelicans Saturday
Not too surprising after New Orleans announced they would take it easy on their stars the rest of the season. Cousins also missed last game. Jrue Holiday would normally pick up the slack here but may be limited tonight. New Orleans has expressed their interest in seeing what Cheick Diallo and Quinn Cook can do, so expect plenty of run from them tonight. Diallo has averaged nearly one fantasy point per minute over 14 appearances with the Pelicans this season, although he only averaged 8.3 mpg across those contests. Jordan Crawford is another great value play, he should pick up plenty of usage and come out firing. Center Alexis Ajinca is another guy to watch out for, he's produced at least 27 DraftKings points in three of the four games he's played for at least 25 minutes.
Pelicans recall Cheick Diallo from their D-League affiliate
The New Orleans Pelicans officially announced that the team has recalled rookie forward Cheick Diallo from the Long Island Nets of the NBA Development League. Diallo has only appeared in seven games thus far for the Pelicans, so his promotion to the active roster will not have any affect on the rotation. However, this could be a hint to the availability of Anthony Davis tonight, who remains questionable.
Cheick Diallo recalled from D-league for Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans have activated Cheick Diallo from their D-league team. He's not a viable DFS option currently.
Pelicans confirmed starting lineup is as expected
Confirmed Starters: Tim Frazier | Buddy Hield | Solomon Hill | Dante Cunningham | Alexis Ajinca |
The only news of note is that Terrence Jones is available tonight as a reserve for New Orleans. This completely closes the door on the fantasy value of Cheick Diallo as a tournament target at the the power forward position.
