Cody Eakin Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
This "second line" has been on fire lately.
With the Vegas Golden Knights not exactly performing at the same level as they did last year, there is naturally been some struggles for the teams' top line. However, the second line of Alex Tuch, Cody Eakin and Max Pacioretty has been on fire as of late. Tuch has 11 points in his last 10 games, Pacioretty has 13 in his last 10 and Eakin has 9. They take on the Washington Capitals — a team that sits 24th in the NHL with just a 47.48 CF% — in what is a solid matchup. The Tuch-Pacioretty mini-stack is definitely in play as they play on the top power play unit together and Eakin is relegated to PP2.
Vegas Heating Up
After an abysmal start to the season Pacioretty has almost single-handedly lifted the Vegas Golden Knights from the ashes as he has pointed in eight of the last nine games. He has been able to register five multi-point games over that time frame as the chemistry seems to be forming between him, Alex Tuch and Cody Eakin. Edmonton has been playing a bit better on defense of late but it probably won’t be able to stop a line that has scored 14 goals to go along with 13 assists over the last eight games. This is your late hammer of the evening.
Top line center still underpriced
Cody Eakin saw his price move since the last time he was suggested on Friday night, but he is still an excellent bargain across the industry. Vegas finally lost last time out, but Eakin found the scoresheet while taking three shots on goal and blocking a shot. Cody has been thrusted into the number one center role as it is a position the Vegas Golden Knights are lacking depth. Cody will have plenty of opportunity, especially while 'Real Deal' James Neal is on one of his heaters. Neal has now netted a goal in all four games, gathering six goals altogether. Eakin is a great way to gain exposure to him at a weak center position.
Number one center role offers opportunity
The Vegas Golden Knights are 3-0 and Cody Eakin is their top center on the depth chart. Eakin centers a line featuring David Perron and James Neal. James Neal has started the season with a bang, recording five goals in three games. While Eakin has not done much offensively, recording just one point on the season, the opportunity is there for the taking, especially while centering the team's top power play unit as well. Vegas is in a great spot tonight as the Detroit Red Wings played last night in Arizona. Petr Mrazek will start for Detroit, and last season was a disaster for the Czech netminder as he posted a 3.04 goals against average and abysmal .901 save percentage. Cody does not shoot too much, but he is almost the bare-minimum across the industry: FanDuel ($3,900), DraftKings ($4,300) and FantasyDraft ($8,500). Count on Cody to find at least an assist.
