Connor Brown Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
This centre is having a sneaky-good season.
John Tavares was the big offseason free agent and he went to the largest market in hockey: Toronto. However, despite his elite season where he is on pace for 54 goals, he is not often the topic of discussion. His linemate Mitchell Marner, for starters, is one of the common discussion points as he sits 6th in the NHL with 55 points. They are joined by Connor Brown who recently was placed on this line to try and get something going for him. Marner and Tavares play on the top power play unit together making them an obvious mini-stack.
This line has multi-goal upside again tonight
The Toronto Maple Leafs opened with the highest implied goal total of the night at 4.1 goals. The New York Rangers come in to tonight allowing 3.14 goals against per game, while Toronto is second in the league in scoring with a whopping 3.69 GF/60. We’ve seen injuries cause Toronto to shuffle their lines some lately, and we’ve also seen three lines produce scoring. So where is the scoring going to come from? While Toronto’s second and third lines are playable, I will be keying in on the first line of John Tavares, Mitchell Marner, and Connor Brown. The Marner and Tavares duo have stuck together through all the injuries and line changes. I prefer to add Defenseman Morgan Rielly to the stack before Connor Brown, but Brown’s cheap price tag across the industry allows you salary to pay up elsewhere. Rielly plays on the top special teams unit, along with Tavares and Marner.
Target This Team's Scoring Depth On Home Ice
If you're looking to differentiate your lineup without fading Toronto with a great matchup at home, consider Toronto’s third line featuring playmakers Tyler Bozak, Connor Brown, and James van Riemsdyk. With a combined 25 points over their last 10 games, look for this line to stay hot against a weak Buffalo team that lacks the depth to slow down Toronto's scoring depth. Also featured on Toronto's top power play unit, Bozak and JVR should get plenty of quality chances on the man advantage tonight against a Buffalo team that ranks 23rd in penalty kill percentage this season and has allowed six power play goals in as games entering tonight.
Two Punt Options At The ACC
The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Winnipeg Jets both play at a very fast pace, which should lead to plenty of scoring chances and with the way these two teams score, we could very well see another shootout at the Air Canada Centre this evening. Both Connor Brown and Mathieu Perreault skate on their teams third line and second power play unit, and they are an inexpensive way to get exposure to this high event game.
Target This Red Hot Line
If you're looking to differentiate your lineup without fading Toronto with a great matchup at home, consider Toronto's third line featuring playmakers Tyler Bozak, Connor Brown, and James van Riemsdyk. With a combined 22 points over their last 10 games, look for this line to stay hot tonight against a weak Buffalo team that lacks the depth to slow down Toronto's scoring depth. Also featured on Toronto's top power play unit, Bozak and JVR should get plenty of quality chances on the man advantage tonight against a Buffalo team that ranks 23rd in penalty kill percentage this season and has allowed three power play goals in as many games.
Multi-Goal Potential Tonight For This Underrated Line
Despite Auston Matthews remaining out of the lineup, the Toronto Maple Leafs still have the highest projected goal total on the slate tonight, and we can certainly go here for value. The Maple Leafs top line has been hot of late, and although James van Riemsdyk is the biggest reason why (five goals in his last two games), his inexpensive linemates (Tyler Bozak and Connor Brown) have also chipped in, and they both see ample time on the power play.
Depth Scoring In Potential Shooutout
If you're looking to differentiate your lineup without fading Toronto with a great matchup at home, consider Toronto's third line featuring playmakers Tyler Bozak, Connor Brown, and James van Riemsdyk. With a combined 17 points over their last 10 games, look for this line to stay hot tonight against a Panthers team that lacks the depth to slow down Toronto's scoring depth. Also featured on Toronto's top power play unit, Bozak and JVR should get plenty of quality chances on the man advantage tonight against a Florida team that ranks 22nd in penalty kill percentage this season and has allowed four power play goals over their past three games.
Home Ice Advantage Benefits This Line
With much of the focus likely centered around the top two lines in the absence of Auston Matthews, Toronto's third line featuring playmakers Tyler Bozak, Mitch Marner, and Connor Brown could fly under the radar in tournaments tonight. Still logging plenty of ice time at even strength and on the power play, Bozak and Marner draw a juicy matchup at home against the league's worst defensive team in New Jersey, who have surrendered the most shots and scoring chances among available teams tonight. Further improving Bozak, Brown, and Marner's outlook tonight is the fact that home ice advantage will allow head coach Mike Babcock to deploy this trio against the second line of New Jersey, which has been their Achilles heel defensively early this season.
Best Matchup In Potential Shootout
With much of the focus likely centered around Auston Matthews and the top line, Toronto's third line featuring playmakers Tyler Bozak, James van Riemsdyk, and Connor Brown could go relatively overlooked in tournaments tonight. They draw a sneaky good matchup against a Kings team that has surrendered the second most scoring chances on the road among available teams tonight. Further improving Bozak, JVR, and Brown's outlook tonight is the fact that home ice advantage will allow head coach Mike Babcock to deploy his secondary scoring line against the third line of Los Angeles, which has been one of their few holes defensively early this season. Also featured on Toronto's third ranked power play, look for this trio to be very active on the man advantage against a Kings penalty kill that is due for regression.
