Conor Sheary Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
The Buffalo Sabres could be a surprise team this season.
Although it has been just two games, Jack Eichel has two points, eight shots, and looking solid with Conor Sheary and Sam Reinhart on his wings — the former scoring two goals last game. Eichel is joined by Reinhart on the top power play unit so while the full line stack is great, a mini-stack of Eichel and Reinhart is also in play. A home matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights isn't the worst situation to be in with Marc-Andre Fleury already allowing six goals in his first two starts.
Target This Team's Depth Scoring In Great Matchup
If you're looking for an under the radar line stack tonight, consider the third line of Pittsburgh which features Phil Kessel, Conor Sheary, and newly acquired Derick Brassard. With 10 points in as many games, Kessel should have no problems improving upon his success on his incredible season against the league's worst defensive team in the Islanders, who have allowed the most scoring chances among over their past 25 home games. Also sharing time on the league's top power play, expect Kessel to be very active on the man advantage tonight against an Islanders penalty kill that ranks dead last in the NHL this season.
Depth Scoring In A Lopsided Game
If you're looking for an under the radar line stack tonight, consider the third line of Pittsburgh which features Phil Kessel, Conor Sheary, and newly acquired Derick Brassard. With a whopping 42 points in 31 home games, Kessel should have no problems creating scoring chances against an overrated Devils team that has surrendered the second most shot attempts and the second most scoring chances among road teams on tonight's slate. Further improving this line's outlook tonight is the fact that home ice advantage will allow head coach Mike Sullivan to get Kessel and his new third line matched up against one of the weaker defensive lines of New Jersey, setting the stage for a monster performance in a game Pittsburgh should dominate from start to finish.
Low Ownership For League's Best Player?
In a high variance sport like hockey, there are times when fading star players can pay off, especially in tournaments. One such superstar that should not be faded tonight is Sidney Crosby. Skating alongside playmakers Conor Sheary and Dominik Simon on Pittsburgh's top line, Crosby has shaken off a poor start to the year with a whopping 21 points over his last ten games. A matchup against a strong Sharks team may seem risky, but they have been showing cracks defensively of late; entering tonight's game with the third worst adjusted xGA/60 since December 1st. This bodes well for Crosby, who may go overlooked on tonight's 12 game slate due to the fact his linemates don't share power play time along with a difficult perceived matchup.
Penguins' winger returns to top line
Conor Sheary has been unable to duplicate his fantastic campaign from a season ago when he posted 53 points (23 goals, 30 assists) in 61 games. This season, Conor has collected just 14 points in 37 games and has not recorded a multi-point game since November 14th. Still, Mike Sullivan has decided to move him back to the top line along with Patric Hornqvist in hopes of shaking up a slumping Penguin offense. Sergei Bobrovsky and the Blue Jackets are not a good matchup, but Conor Sheary is a cheap way to gain exposure to Sidney Crosby and a Penguins team which checks in as a healthy favorite on home ice.
Target This Top Line In High Scoring Game
After a slow start to the year, Sidney Crosby has been lights out in recent games; entering tonight with 16 points over his last 10 games. Skating on Pittsburgh's top line alongside playmakers Patric Hornqvist and Conor Sheary, Crosby draws a juicy matchup at home against a weak Rangers team that has allowed the most shot attempts and scoring chances per game on the road this season. In a game that should play with a fast pace with plenty of goals exchanged between both teams, look for Crosby and his linemates to be worth every penny of their steep price tags tonight.
Don't Fade This Top Line Tonight
In a high variance sport like hockey, there are times when fading star players can pay off, especially in tournaments. One such superstar that should not be faded tonight is Sidney Crosby. Skating alongside playmakers Conor Sheary and Patric Hornqvist on Pittsburgh's top line, this line is primed for a massive game against the league's worst team in Arizona who will be playing on consecutive nights on the road. Also featured on Pittsburgh's lethal top power play unit, Crosby, Hornqvist, and Letang should have plenty of quality opportunities to break through on the man advantage tonight against an Arizona team that ranks 28th in penalty kill percentage this season. In a game that will be seemingly over before puck drop, I expect Crosby, Hornqvist, and Sheary to easily pay off their steep price tags tonight.
Point-per-game player returns to top line
Penguins' sensation Conor Sheary is fresh off goals in back-to-back games and has rejoined the Penguins' top line with Sidney Crosby and Jake Guentzel. At $4,500 on FanDuel, Conor Sheary is a must play. He is affordable on both DraftKings and FantasyDraft as well. Last season, Conor clobbered the Florida Panthers, picking up five points (1 goal, 4 assists) in just two games. Altogether last season, Conor was a point-per-game player at CONSOL Energy Center, where he tallied 31 points (13 goals, 18 assists) in 32 games. Pittsburgh is time and time again one of the best teams on home ice in the National Hockey League, and Conor is a stellar salary-saving option for this Saturday slate.
Playoff demotion presents opportunity for breakout winger
On FantasyDraft, Conor Sheary ($13,200) is tied for the third-most expensive winger on the slate. On DraftKings, Sheary checks in at $6,400 — the fourth-most expensive winger on the slate. On FanDuel, Conor Sheary checks in at a minuscule $4,500 — the 21st-most expensive winger on the slate. Even if Sheary were priced higher on FanDuel, he makes for an excellent play. FanDuel seems to have put a heavy weight on Sheary’s removal from the top line in the playoffs. Yet here he is on opening night, scheduled to skate alongside Sidney Crosby and Jake Guentzel on the Pittsburgh Penguins’ top line. Conor clobbered visitors to CONSOL Energy Center last season as the diminutive winger found 31 points (13 goals, 18 assists) in 32 regular season games. The Penguins will be a tough out at home all season long, so count on Conor to easily pay off his bargain bin salary on FanDuel.
