Do Not Fade This Line Tonight In Any Format
The Pittsburgh Penguins will be very popular tonight and for good reason, but the Anaheim Ducks offense is not far behind, and their top line has big game upside in this plus matchup on home ice. The Vancouver Canucks have really struggled of late, losing nine of their last 11 games, while surrendering the sixth-most goals against per game in the National Hockey League this month, and I expect the Ducks number one line to make them pay tonight. In cash games, I would strongly suggest you get a piece of this dangerous trio, with Rickard Rakell being my preferred option, and Brandon Montour is just too cheap to pass on. As far as tourneys go, I will have heavy exposure to the Ducks number one line, while mixing in both Cam Fowler and Montour wherever possible.
Pay Up For This Line Tonight
Finally healthy after missing time due to injury, veteran playmaker Ryan Getzlaf has 45 points in 41 games played for the Ducks. Reunited on Anaheim's top line alongside goal scorers Rickard Rakell and Corey Perry, Getzlaf draws a fantastic matchup against a Washington team that is finally starting to show their true colors; entering tonight's game allowing the most high danger scoring chances among road teams on tonight's slate. Also featured on Anaheim's top power play unit, Getzlaf, Perry, and Rakell should have no problems paying off their steep price tags against a Capitals team that owns a -24 penalty differential over their past 15 games.
Perry Price Point, Potential, Perfect
On both FanDuel and DraftKings, Perry is a nice mid-tier priced option. He offers great upside tonight at both 5v5 and on the penalty kill, and it is easy to see the game in Anaheim being the highest scoring of the slate. Edmonton has struggled mightily on defense in all facets of the game. Over the last month, the Oilers have allowed the third most scoring chances per hour at 5v5, with shot attempt quantity and quality issues presenting themselves as well. With Leon Draisaitl now on the top line with McDavid and Perry not likely see that line at 5v5 (Kesler), there are no matchup concerns with Edmonton. And lets not forget the favorable power play draw Perry gets here, as the Oilers have been horrific on the penalty kill. Though they have limited overall shot attempts quite well, they have been completely unable to cover the high-danger spots of the ice, leading the league in most chances allowed from the high-danger areas on a per hour basis. Given a favorable home matchup and a reasonable price, Perry offers tremendous profit potential tonight.
Anaheim veteran winger looks to stay hot against Sharks
The Ducks' top line was an overall disappointment the other night against the Edmonton Oilers, but Corey Perry still found a goal as he stretched his point streak to four games. During this rich vein of form, Perry has potted three goals and picked up four assists. San Jose, long considered a stout defense, has not resembled anything close to it for a while now. Since the calendar turned over, San Jose has allowed the second-most high danger scoring chances in the National Hockey League. The only team worse than them is the New York Islanders, and we all know how awful they have been defensively. Corey Perry is still a cheap option to gain exposure to Anaheim's top line, and he makes for an excellent tournament stack with Rickard Rakell and Ryan Getzlaf.
Grab this cheap winger to gain exposure to hot top line
After a rocky January where Corey Perry collected only three points in nine games, the Anaheim veteran has come alive in February, posting six points (2 goals, 4 assists) in just four games as he, Ryan Getzlaf and Rickard Rakell have formed a tenacious trio on the Ducks' top line. These three also skate on the team's top power play unit which should be foaming at the mouth to take on the Edmonton Oilers. After all, the Oilers' penalty kill rate is an abysmal 71.5% which is worst in the National Hockey League. Corey Perry is an affordable option across the industry (FanDuel - $5,500, DraftKings - $5,000) which allows some salary relief to grab a couple superstars. Perry is a great way to get exposure to Anaheim's sizzling top line.
Multi-Point Night On Deck?
When looking at the Vegas Golden Knights, we should definitely ignore their winning record (12-6-1), and instead, take a deeper look into their underlining numbers. Despite an impressive record, the Golden Knights have actually been quite poor defensively, as evident by their ranking in CA/60 (21st), SCA/60 (20th) and GA/60 (23rd). Vegas received terrific goaltending early on which helped to mask their defensive inefficiencies, but the wheels have started to come off lately, resulting in them allowing the sixth-most goals against per game in the month of November. Rickard Rakell has excelled in place of Ryan Getzlaf on the Anaheim Ducks number one line and he has shown great chemistry with finisher Corey Perry, and both skaters have big game upside tonight at the Honda center. coming soon.
Bounce back year starts tonight!
The Arizona Coyotes were one of the worst defensive teams in the National Hockey League last season and they are once again one of the top teams to attack in 2017-18. The Desert Dogs finished the 2016-17 season sitting near, or at the bottom of the league in many defensive statistics, such as CF/60, shots allowed (34.1) and goals against per game (3.15). The Coyotes were also one of the most penalized teams, and despite all their practice short-handed, they finished with the 27th ranked penalty kill. After a disappointing 2016-17 season, Corey Perry finds himself back on the Ducks’ top line to start the 2017-18 season. Perry and linemate Ryan Getzlaf have shown great chemistry together over the years, and I expect to see Perry bounce back in a big way this season. Look for the 32-year-old winger to find the back of the net at least once tonight in this very favorable matchup on home ice.
