Craig Gentry Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Top run line, but just one above average hitter in the lineup
Ryan Borucki broke out of a three game slide (14 ER - 9.2 IP - 9 BB - 3 K) with 6.2 innings of two run ball against the Phillies (five strikeouts). He has just a 14.5 K% on the season and RHBs have a .337 wOBA against him. The problem is that the Baltimore lineup has just one batter above a 90 wRC+ vs LHP this season. That's Jonathan Villar (111 wRC+. .210). Craig Gentry (76 wRC+, .105 ISO) may have some value at a low price near the top of the lineup if salary savings is a necessity. This Baltimore lineup has a 4.57 run line that's currently top six on this board, but it's difficult to decipher where all this offense is going to originate from.
Mark Trumbo scratched Sunday; Craig Gentry replaces and will bat ninth
Trumbo has officially been scratched from the Baltimore Orioles lineup for today's game against the Texas Rangers due to an unspecified reason. He'll be replaced in the lineup by Craig Gentry, who will take over the outfield duties and bat ninth. This lineup change will bump Trey Mancini up to the cleanup spot in the order, Welington Castillo up to sixth, and Joey Rickard up to seventh from his original position in the nine-hole. However, the remainder of the Orioles previously confirmed lineup does remain unchanged.
Angels going with a right-handed heavy lineup versus Perez
Martin Perez is an average pitcher against right-handed batters, owning a 0.336 wOBA against RHBs. The Angels are stacking righties in the lineup today with Craig Gentry batting second in between Yunel Escobar and Mike Trout.
Pujols has a 99.7 exit velocity, 3 HRs vs Holland
Derek Holland has been a decent, but inconsistent pitcher in the past when healthy, but had just a 16.7 K% and 34.6 Hard% with 11 HRs in just 58.2 innings last year. He has a lot to prove before we can consider him for daily fantasy purposes. The Angels weren't very good vs LHP last season (88 wRC+), but Mike Trout crushes pitchers without prejudice for handedness (185 wRC+ vs LHP last season) and Albert Pujols had just a 106 wRC+ vsLHP, but .252 ISO and great career numbers against Holland, including 6 extra base hits (3 HRs) with just 3 Ks and a 99.7 exit velocity in 27 ABs. Newcomers Escobar and Gentry are interesting atop the lineup at affordable prices. C.J. Cron had just an 84 wRC+ and .126 ISO vs LHP in 133 PAs.
