Danny Willett is no longer in the field

Danny Willett has withdrawn from this weeks Players Championship due to Covid policies. He will be replaced by Kramer Hickok.

Danny Willet looks to continue improved play

The plight of Danny Willett is not like many other first time major winners. Prior to his 2016 Masters win, Willett was considered one of the better young European Tour players in terms of talent. Winning a major championship can definitely change someone's life and in the case of Willett, the change was not exactly positive at first. Willett floundered for almost two years and looked lost at times. The road back to positive play has not been an easy one for Willett, but with a win last November on The European Tour this former major champion appears to be on the right track in terms of finding his game. Willett is one of the biggest movers in terms of odds for the week, as betters are taking a chance on this long shot. Reasonably priced across the industry, Willett makes sense as a punt play with upside especially since this is a no-cut event.

Danny Willett changes swing coaches

2016 Masters champion Danny Willett has parted ways with long-time coach Pete Cowen. Mired in a slump since his Masters win Willett looks to revamp his game with Tiger Woods former swing coach Sean Foley. Those close to Willett stress that there has been no fall out with Cowen and that the change is more about Willett needing a fresh set of eyes. Foley, who previously coached Tiger Woods and currently tutors Justin Rose, started working with Willett at this week’s PGA Championship. Foley and Willet were spotted together on the range together Tuesday morning, and then again later that afternoon as Rose and Willett played a practice round. Swing changes are never easy, but some times a player just needs to hear something from a different point of view. While a quick turnaround is not expected, the change in direction for Willett is worth monitoring in the upcoming months.
