Danton Heinen Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

This winger is in a surprisingly great matchup this evening.

The Boston Bruins are road underdogs as they head to Winnipeg to take on the Jets. But, the Jets have actually had some poor possession numbers as of late. Their 47.27 CF% over the last month ranks 24th in the NHL while they've allowed a ton of shot attempts, giving up 60.93 CA/60 which is the 7th-most over the same time frame. Patrice Bergeron continues to centre the top line of Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak's replacement — Danton Heinen. As mentioned above, the Bruins are actually underdogs in this matchup, but given their recent play compared to that of the Jets, this is a surprisingly good matchup. Bergeron has put up 26 goals and 65 points in 54 games which gives him a 1.20 points per game average — just behind Marchand's 1.23 PPG average.

This winger has been more than just a third-wheel on the top line

David Pastrnak remains on the shelf as the Boston Bruins visit Columbus to take on the Blue Jackets. Columbus is coming off a 2-0 loss at the hands of the New York Islanders last night which is unfortunate as they need every point they can get. Now, on the second-half of a back to back they are taking on the Boston Bruins. The Bruins will have Patrice Bergeron centering Brad Marchand and Danton Heinen, as has been the case over the last few games. A large benefit to rostering this entire line stack is that they are all on the top power play unit together. This gives the line full-game correlation and elite upside as a result.

Look for this stack to build off their last game

Patrice Bergereon, Brad Marchand, and Danton Heinen will likely be the chalk stack of the day, but for good reason. Ottawa has given up a ton of scoring chances in the past month (13.78/60). Heinen also saw top power-play minute's last game with DeBrusk missing last game. This may be the case again tonight with DeBrusk’s availability up in the air. Torey Krug makes a great addition as a four-man stack, as he quarterbacks the team’s top power-play unit.

This winger continues to be one of the most hated players in the NHL

While common linemate David Pastrnak is on the shelf, he and Patrice Bergeron have continued to truck along with Danton Heinen on the right side. Marchand has 8 goals and 20 points in 15 games since February 1st, with 3 points coming with the man advantage and 3 coming on the penalty kill. He is an even strength, power play and shorthanded master which gives him elite upside. The Boston Bruins are hosting the Florida Panthers who are expected to be rolling with Roberto Luongo in net tonight which bodes well for Marchand and the Bruins. Luongo has struggled this season with a 3.13 goals against average and a .898 save percentage. He is clearly starting to show his age as he takes a major step back in his success.

This line should dominate from puck drop

Boston’s top line has come alive again the past two games, posting a combined three goals, six assists and 16 shots on goal. Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron, and Danton Heinen will host New Jersey tonight, who is playing on the tail end of a back to back. The Devils gave up six goals last night to Philadelphia, and I expect that to carry over into tonight. The Devil’s have been plagued by injuries all season, and last night they added Kurtis Gabriel and Nathan Bastian to the list as they left the game early. Boston’s top line should have no problem controlling the game against New Jersey’s AHL like roster. Torey Krug is the power play defenseman you want to target with this stack.

This winger is benefiting from his first line promotion

With the injury to David Pastrnak, Danton Heinen has filled in on the top line alongside Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand. The trio started their first game off incredibly with three points for Heinen but the two since have been goose eggs. Tonight as they visit the San Jose Sharks will not be an easy matchup but the Sharks goaltending has struggled this season with Martin Jones putting up just a .899 SV%.

Young Winger Enjoying Line Promotion

The loss of David Pastrnak due to injury has led to a promotion to the first line for Danton Heinen. Heinen has taken advantage of the opportunity, with six points in his last four games, including a three-point effort in his last outing. He's skating with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand, which will create plenty of opportunities for the youngster. The Bruins will be facing the Ducks, who are arguably one of the worst three teams in the NHL. Heinen's price has risen on DraftKings, but is a steal on FanDuel at just $4100.

Playing on the top line allowed this winger to shine.

Danton Heinen replaced David Pastrnak on the Boston Bruins top line last game and will continue to do so for the time being. Heinen picked up one goal and two assists in 14:28 of ice-time as the Bruins doubled up the Chicago Blackhawks 6-3. Unfortunately, Heinen didn't join them on the top power play unit but the line is clearly effective enough at even strength that it doesn't matter. Tonight the Bruins have another solid matchup as the take on the Anaheim Ducks. Goaltender Kevin Boyle had a shutout in his first career NHL start last game against the Vancouver Canucks, but there is no reason to believe he won't get shelled tonight.

Surging sophomore Bruin looks to bury Blackhawks

With David Pastrnak ruled out for some time, Heinen is expected to get work on the team's top power play. Heinen has already benefited from skating on the top line recently with sizzling Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand, a line that should have no problems picking apart the Blackhawks. The Blackhawks may be winning games, but they're a disastrous team defensively. Heinen is still cheap across the industry and makes the Bruins' top line quite affordable.

Brad Marchand looks doubtful for tonight

Accordingly, Danton Heinen figures to see top line duties alongside Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak. Heinen has logged 15-plus minutes over his last three contests, picking up two assists with 10 shots on goal. While this matchup figures to be much lower scoring than other contests, so much of the Bruins' production comes from their top line and top power play unit. Heinen checks in at under $4,000 on DraftKings and FanDuel which makes him a solid source of salary relief in cash games.
