Darcy Kuemper Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Cheap low-owned netminder could be a difference maker in tournaments

Darcy Kuemper has won six of his last seven starts. The only loss during this span was against the sizzling St. Louis Blues. Outside of the four goals allowed to St. Louis, Kuemper has allowed the following goal totals: DAL (2), VGS (2), TOR (0), EDM (2), VAN (2) and WPG (1). Although Florida's offense has been competent, Arizona sports the National Hockey League's second-best penalty kill (85.6%) which trails only the elite Tampa Bay Lightning (85.7%). Additionally, the Panthers played last night in Colorado and should wear down as the game goes on. Kuemper checks in at an attractive $7,700 on DraftKings and $7,800 on FanDuel. Fire him up in tournaments in this nice spot for the home team.

Bottom of the barrel goalie frees up tremendous salary

There is not much to like about Darcy Kuemper, but he is minimum-priced across the industry. Here's a shocker: Darcy Kuemper has not lost in regulation since December 30th. In January he was 6-0-2 and allowed three or less goals in every single start. Dallas is no longer the offensive juggernaut they were in the past, especially while Benn is off the top line. Arizona is a tough team that never seems to get blown out and they sport the National Hockey League's best penalty kill (87.1%). Kuemper is a terrific target in tournaments.

Goalie in Perfect Spot

The Canucks are arguably the most injured team in league and could be without Elias Petterson, Brock Boeser, Alexander Edler, and Sven Baertschi tonight. They are also playing on the second end of a back-to-back after playing in overtime last night. Darcy Kuemper will be getting the start tonight and should be the beneficiary of these circumstances. He's been excellent through two starts, posting a 1.51 GAA and .953 SV%. I expect him to get the win this evening.

The discounted backup is sometimes the best play

Let's be honest, goaltending is a disaster tonight. However, there are a couple sneaky spots that could provide solid value. I am looking at the road Arizona Coyotes backup Darcy Kuemper as he takes on the Vancouver Canucks. With Brock Boeser out, there isn't really much to be afraid of on the Canucks offensive side of things. Kuemper has solid numbers on the season with a 2.25 goals against average and .927 save percentage, but you must know that most of that came while he was a member of the Los Angeles Kings. He has been pretty brutal in Arizona, but it is just two games and one of which he was not supposed to start so I will give him the benefit of the doubt. He's not a great goalie, but I do think Vancouver will struggle to score which could put him in a solid spot for the win.

Newly-acquired goalie looks for big debut in desert

Darcy Kuemper is set to make his Coyotes' debut after posting a 10-1-3 record, 2.10 GAA and .932 SV% in 19 appearances for the Los Angeles Kings this season. Naturally, the Coyotes' defense is a significant downgrade from the Kings, but an opportunity for Kuemper awaits. Arizona's defense has been better of late, and last night was a standout performance as they blanked the Ducks 2-0. With the poor traveling Canucks in town, another win could be in store for this young Arizona squad. Devyn Dubnyk is the choice for cash games, but there is reason to get excited about Kuemper in tournaments given his solid play this season.

Back-up goaltender in a premium spot tonight.

Playing in Los Angeles is one of the toughest spots to be in. Doing so on the tail-end of a back to back is even worse. Darcy Kuemper is in a fantastic spot tonight, at home against the Nashville Predators who just took on the Anaheim Ducks last night. Kuemper has been solid in a limited role this season with an 2-0-0 record, 1.92 goals against advantage and a .929 save percentage. The Predators have scored just 2.53 goals per game, and are in for a world of trouble tonight.
