Wilson Chandler (illness) and Darrell Arthur (knee) available to play Monday

Chandler didn't participate in shootaround Monday morning but has officially been cleared to play in tonight's game against the Charlotte Hornets after previously being listed as questionable on the Denver Nuggets' injury report with an illness. Meanwhile, Darrell Arthur is also available to play following his earlier questionable designation on the injury report due to right knee soreness. Additionally, Mason Plumlee remains sidelined with a strained left calf, and Jamal Murray was not included on the injury report despite dealing with a thigh issue that is reportedly still giving him some trouble. It's been nearly impossible to project a pattern in Malone's carousel at the starting power forward position, as Chandler, Arthur, and Trey Lyles have all started at one point or another in recent games. Based purely on the matchup, Arthur or Lyles seem to be the likeliest candidates to start and match up with Frank Kaminsky on the defensive end of the floor, but at this point, no lineup or rotation decisions made by Malone should come as a surprise.

Wilson Chandler (illness) probable Monday; Darrell Arthur (knee) questionable

Chandler didn't participate in shootaround Monday morning, according to head coach Mike Malone, but has officially been listed as probable on the Denver Nuggets' injury report for tonight's game against the Charlotte Hornets with an illness, while Darrell Arthur also didn't participate in shootaround and is questionable due to right knee soreness. Additionally, Mason Plumlee remains sidelined with a strained left calf, and Jamal Murray was not included on the injury report despite dealing with a thigh issue in Saturday's win. It's been nearly impossible to project a pattern in Malone's carousel at the starting power forward position, as Chandler, Arthur, and Trey Lyles have all started at one point or another in recent games. Based purely on the matchup, Arthur, if he plays, or Lyles could be the likeliest candidates to start and match up with Frank Kaminsky on the defensive end, but at this point, no lineup or rotation decisions made by Malone should come as a surprise.

Will Barton to start on Thursday

Denver will start Barton and Chandler against the Thunder on Thursday. Malone will mix and match his starting lineup while Plumblee is out. Darrell Arthur will come off the bench on Thursday against the Thunder

Darrell Arthur will start for Mason Plumlee (calf) on Tuesday

Chandler has officially been cleared to play and will suit up for tonight's game against the San Antonio Spurs after previously being listed as probable on the Denver Nuggets' injury report with a migraine that had forced him to miss one game. The Nuggets are already without Mason Plumlee for Tuesday's contest, who had already been ruled out due to a strained right calf, which will give head coach Mike Malone an excuse to start Darrell Arthur at power forward alongside Nikola Jokic in the frontcourt. However, Arthur shouldn't be expected to see anywhere close to starters' minutes and is likely to form a committee in the frontcourt with Trey Tyles and Kenneth Faried, with Lyles easily leading the way in terms of playing time. As for Chandler, he was recently displaced from the Nuggets starting lineup in favor of Will Barton, but he has still consistently seen playing time in the low-30s, leaving him in consideration for tournament formats on most nights.

Jameer Nelson (calf) not expected to play Friday; Will Barton (foot) is questionable

Nelson returned from a two-game absence last night and played 32 minutes. It appears the calf is still bothering him and it will likely keep him out tomorrow. Barton has missed the past four games. He was a late scratch yesterday after being listed questionable. Darrell Arthur (knee) is probable.

Darrell Arthur (knee) available to play tonight

Arthur will be available to play in tonight's game against the Houston Rockets after previously being listed as probable on the Nuggets' injury report with a sore left knee that had forced him to miss four consecutive games. Additionally, Will Barton was previously ruled out with a sore left foot, while Jameer Nelson and Kenneth Faried are reportedly going through pregame warmups with the intent of playing in tonight's contest. Assuming Nelson is good to go, he will replace Jamal Murray in the Nuggets starting lineup, sending him back to the bench to resume his reserve role. The absence of Barton will allow Gary Harris to continue seeing playing time in the 36-40 minute range, which enables him to still be a relatively safe cash game target on a nightly basis, especially in a pace up matchup with a Houston squad that is not known for their elite defensive abilities. With Barton off the court since the All-Star break, Mason Plumlee (21.8%) actually leads the Nuggets with a +3.4% usage rate differential, making him an interesting speculative tournament dart throw if looking for a super-contrarian option that could set a lineup a part if Nikola Jokic gets in foul trouble.

Will Barton unlikely to play; Kenneth Faried, Jameer Nelson questionable, Darrell Arthur probable

The Nuggets have updated their injury report, and it's now looking like they'll be without Will Barton tonight. Barton has missed Denver's past three games, which has led to huge minute totals for Gary Harris, and both Jamal Murray and Emmanuel Mudiay have been very involved lately with Jameer Nelson also out. Nelson is questionable for tonight's game, and his absence would only further cement Murray and Mudiay as a premier value plays on this slate. Mudiay has been the better fantasy performer over the past two games, but he also tends to be more volatile and his spot in the rotation isn't quite as secure as Murray's. If Kenneth Faried isn't able to suit up, Wilson Chandler should see extended run at the PF spot against a Houston team that typically likes to play small, making him one of the better upside plays of the day.

Darrell Arthur (knee) ruled OUT tonight for Nuggets

Arthur has been out for a while now so this isn't a surprise. His absence doesn't have too much of an effect on Denver's rotations. Kenneth Faried will remain the starting power forward, but his minutes have been generally low. According to CourtIQ, Faried's per-minute fantasy production decreases when Arthur, Will Barton, and Jameer Nelson are off the floor - 0.95 DraftKings ppm vs. 1.07 with them on. Barton and Nelson were also ruled out earlier, and they certainly have a bigger impact than Arthur. Jamal Murray will get another start in Nelson's place. Over the past three months, he's averaged 1.04 DK points without the three injured players. Although Emmanuel Mudiay played more minutes than him off the bench in their last game, there's a good chance that Murray hits the 30-minute mark tonight, which makes him a great value. Mudiay scored 17 points and added nine assists after being irrelevant for the past two months, but he's infamously inconsistent and therefore a very risky bet to repeat that performance tonight.

Jameer Nelson, Will Barton, and Darrell Arthur all questionable for Nuggets on Tuesday

Arthur has pretty much been a non-factor due to injury concerns of late so his potential absence has no impact on the Nuggets rotation. Nelson missed the teams last game and Jamal Murray started for him but it was Emmanuel Mudiay who put up the big numbers. Both will be in play if Nelson and Barton both sit. We'll update you tomorrow on the status of these three injured Denver players.

Jameer Nelson (calf), Will Barton (foot), and Darrell Arthur (knee) ruled out; Jamal Murray will start

Nelson, Barton, and Arthur have all officially been ruled out of tonight's game against the Miami Heat due to their respective ailments after previously being listed as questionable on the Nuggets' injury report. Additionally, Mason Plumlee still remains questionable with an abdominal contusion. In Nelson's absence, Jamal Murray will receive the starting nod at point guard and immediately becomes one of the better value options on the slate. On the other hand, with Barton ruled out, Gary Harris will see his already high minute floor increased, as he saw a whopping 41 minutes in Friday's contest with Barton unavailable. Not only that, we can reasonably expect him to play minutes in at least the high-30s again this evening. Unfortunately, there is isn't a significant sample size with the aforementioned players off the court to analyze usage rates, but Harris, Murray, and Kenneth Faried (if he starts) stand to benefit the most from their absences.
