Stephen Curry (ankle), Draymond Green (shoulder), and David West (arm) ruled out for Wednesday
Curry, Green, and West have all been listed out on the Golden State Warriors' injury report and won't play in Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers due to their respective ailments. Meanwhile, Klay Thompson is listed as questionable with a sprained right thumb, and Andre Iguodala and Jordan Bell are listed as probable with a sprained left wrist and a sprained right ankle, respectively, but both are ultimately expected to play at this time. The Warriors also announced that Curry won't have his tweaked right ankle re-evaluated until March 20th, which essentially rules him out for three additional games following tomorrow's contest. The injury is still not considered serious, so Golden State just appears to be erring on the side of caution with their sights currently set on the postseason and ultimately another championship. In Curry's absence, Quinn Cook figures to continue starting at point guard but is coming off of two straight disappointing fantasy performances despite logging at least 29 minutes of action in each start. As is the case anytime Curry is sidelined, Kevin Durant begins to flirt with must-play status and owns a massive +9.4% usage rate differential with Curry, Green, West, and Patrick McCaw off the court this season. Not only does his usage rate skyrocket to 40.7% in that scenario, but Durant also has averaged 1.64 fantasy points per minute on DraftKings and 1.61 on FanDuel, just further cementing his case as an elite option on Wednesday's slate and the duration of Curry's absence.
Andre Iguodala and David West ruled out Friday
Andre Iguodala and David West will both miss tonight's game against Portland. JaVale McGee and Kevon Looney will see some more minutes, with West out of the lineup. Looney is not a recommend DFS target for tonight, but McGee could be worth a look in a GPP. He had 33 & 25 FDP in his last two games. Look for Quinn Cook, Nick Young, and Shaun Livingston to all get some extra run, with Andre Iguodala out. All three players are GPP options for tonight's slate.
David West (arm) officially ruled out Thursday
West has officially been ruled out and won't play in Thursday's game against the San Antonio Spurs after previously being listed as doubtful on the Golden State Warriors' injury report with a cyst on his right arm that has now forced him to miss two consecutive games. The Warriors are also already without Andre Iguodala and Jordan Bell due to their respective ailments, the latter expected to miss at least two more games with a sprained right ankle, leaving them relatively shorthanded in their second unit. Kevon Looney had appeared in just one game and totaled five minutes for Golden State since the All-Star break, but in the absence of West, he ended up togging 15 minutes off the bench, essentially stepping directly into West's role in the frontcourt rotation. With Iguodala unable to suit up, Looney may end up seeing slightly more playing time than that, and both Omri Casspi and Nick Young are likely to absorb extended minutes on the wing with the second unit since Patrick McCaw is still sidelined with a fractured left wrist.
David West (arm) ruled out Tuesday; Jordan Bell (back) available to play
West is a late addition to the Golden State Warriors' injury report and has officially been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Brooklyn Nets due to a cyst on his right arm. West was never given a designation on the injury report at any point throughout the day, but Jordan Bell will be available to play, as expected, after previously being listed as probable with a strained lower back. Kevon Looney will be active but may still not crack the rotation of head coach Steve Kerr, as Bell and Omri Casspi are more than capable of filling the void left behind by West in the frontcourt, and Looney has appeared in just one game and totaled five minutes for Golden State since the All-Star break. Bell is probably the only member of the aforementioned trio that is worth a look in tournaments on the late slates across the industry, but he still carries the risk of being eased back into the rotation by Kerr and not coming close to the 15-20 minutes he needs to have a realistic shot at exceeding salary-based expectations.
Draymond Green (dental), Shaun Livingston (elbow), and David West (calf) available to play Thursday
Green has officially been cleared to play and will suit up for Thursday's game against the Dallas Mavericks after previously being listed as probable on the Golden State Warriors' injury report due to a dental procedure, while Shaun Livingston and David West will also be available to play through their respective ailments following their earlier probable designations on the injury report. Additionally, Kevin Durant is no longer listed as questionable with a left-hand contusion and will play in tonight's contest. So, despite four players appearing on the injury report, the only Warrior that will be inactive due to an injury is Jordan Bell, who remains without a firm timetable for his return. In the Warriors prior meetings with the Mavericks this season, Durant and Stephen Curry have unsurprisingly led the team with 31.1% and 33.4% usage rates, respectively, while each has averaged more than 1.53 fantasy points per minute on DraftKings and FanDuel in these matchups.
Andre Iguodala (rest) and David West (rest) ruled out Friday
Iguodala and West are new additions to the Golden State Warriors' injury report and have officially been ruled out for tonight's game against the Sacramento Kings due to rest purposes on the front end of the Warriors back-to-back set. Additionally, Jordan Bell will remain sidelined for at least two more weeks with a swollen left ankle. The Warriors are also without Shaun Livingston for Friday's contest as he tends to a personal matter, leaving them shorthanded at three positions in the second unit. To help alleviate some of these depth concerns, Quinn Cook has been recalled from the G-League, though Patrick McCaw is more likely to take over Livingston's role in the rotation. With West and Bell both unavailable, Kevon Looney is likely to step into a larger role in the frontcourt rotation and could see time at both the power forward and center positions this evening.
Andre Iguodala (knee) ruled out Friday; Kevin Durant (ankle), Stephen Curry (hand), Klay Thompson (ankle), and David West (knee) will play
Iguodala has been ruled out and won't suit up for tonight's game against the Orlando Magic despite previously being upgraded to probable on the Golden State Warriors' injury report with a sore left knee, while Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and David West will all be available to play following their respective injury designations on the injury report. Considering Durant, Curry and West had been upgraded to probable along with Iguodala, their availability is far from surprising and the Warriors will have their normal starting lineup intact for Friday's road tilt with a Magic squad that ranks 24th in defensive efficiency and play at the sixth-fastest pace in the NBA this season. In the prior two games, Iguodala has missed due to rest or injury, it's been Nick Young who has benefited the most from additional playing time, while Omri Casspi barely saw the court. That said, given how sporadic head coach Steve Kerr's reserve rotation can be, there are better on-paper punt options available on an eight-game slate than Young, who relies solely on his ability to get hot from three-point range to make and exceed salary-based expectations.
Kevin Durant (ankle), Stephen Curry (hand), Klay Thompson (ankle), Andre Iguodala (knee), and David West (knee) questionable for Friday
Durant, Curry, Iguodala, and West have all been listed as questionable on the Golden State Warriors' injury report for tomorrow's game against the Orlando Magic due to their respective ailments, while Klay Thompson is a new addition to the injury report and is also considered questionable with a sprained left ankle. This is obviously a difficult situation to break down currently without morning shootaround reports and the fact that we are more than a day in advance of the actual game, but if all, or some combination of the aforementioned players were to be ruled out tomorrow, there would clearly be a plethora of usage available for Draymond Green and the ancillary Warriors rotation pieces in a great matchup with a Magic squad that ranks 24th in defensive efficiency and play at the sixth-fastest pace in the NBA this season. So, it goes without saying that the Warriors' injury situation will be the key news to monitor on Friday as we approach lock on the main slate.
David West (rest) ruled out Monday
West has been ruled out and won't play in tonight's game against the Miami Heat due to rest. This is the first game West will miss this season, and his absence will likely open up some additional playing time in the Golden State Warriors frontcourt for Jordan Bell, who has been productive in limited minutes at times this season, and possibly Kevon Looney, though he has seen the court in just three games all year. Assuming Bell can approach the 20-minute mark, which is a big assumption considering he has yet to eclipse 12 minutes, he could be considered as a flier in large-field tournaments, especially if operating under the notion that Miami will not be able to keep this game within striking distance for all four quarters.
Andre Iguodala (knee) was a full participant in practice Friday; Zaza Pachulia (heel) was limited
That means Iguodala is more likely to play tomorrow but both are considered questionable. Should Iguodala suit up, he won't be a strong option at his price, considering he averaged 0.70 DK ppm in the second round and will likely earn around 25-28 minutes. If Iguodala is ruled out again, Patrick McCaw would be the biggest beneficiary. He was one of the first guys to enter the game off the bench in the first quarter of Game 2 and he finished with 27 minutes. He turned them into 35.75 DK points, although he did most of his damage in garbage time (which happened early) - he piled up 12 points, three assists, and two steals after the Spurs began pulling their starters. Matt Barnes would also pick up some extra minutes and he actually started the second half on Tuesday with Pachulia out. Pachulia's absence should provide JaVale McGee and David West bigger workloads as well. Both guys are averaging at least 1.07 DK ppm this postseason, although McGee has slipped to 0.88 since the second round started while West has maintained a 1.05 pace. If Pachulia plays, he'll be a potential tournament option as he's averaged 0.97 DK ppm this postseason with an 18.4% usage rate, increases of 0.02 and 3.0% over his regular season production. He's available for just $3,000 on DK for the Friday-Saturday slate.
