Deyonta Davis Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Deyonta Davis and Taurean Prince are listed as probable

In today’s edition of Hawks injury whack-a-mole, from what it sounds like right now, John Collins, Deyonta Davis and Alex Len are all expected to play, so the value is going to be on the wing instead of in the Hawks front court today. It’s Huerter and Bazemore that are out, with Taurean Prince, De’Andre Bembry and potentially Justin Anderson standing to benefit. For now. Trae Young has been in good form lately and should continue that tonight, so he is always in consideration with whomever else you’d like to roster from the Hawks value.

John Collins, Alex Len, Taurean Prince, Kent Bazemore, and Deyonta Davis are expected to play

Only Vince Carter has been ruled out, everyone else gets the murky "available" tag. This is not great news if you were hunting for Hawks value, but does not necessarily rule out using John Collins or Len. With Prince muddling the wing a bit, I would be less enticed by using Bazemore or Justin Anderson on a 12 game slate. Davis is still a potential value if you think Len finds his way to foul trouble, but less interesting than if Len was out.

John Collins, Kent Bazemore, and Deyonta Davis are listed as probable

With John Collins back, all the usage that went to Len, Bazemore and Davis in yesterday's game will be for the most part soaked up by Collins' return. Davis would still be in consideration if Len can't go, but expectations would need to be tempered a bit. If Len and Prince do ultimately get ruled out, Collins and Bazemore should be very strong plays, along with potentially Kevin Huerter and DeAndre' Bembry. Justin Anderson was a bit of a disappointment last night, but would also be in consideration with Prince out.

Attacking an Injury-Depleted Squad

The Grizzlies are going to be without approximately 100 players tonight with Martin, Green, Gasol, and others all out, so there is plenty of value to attack here even though the Grizzlies are trying to lose. Someone has to play! The big men have my attention the most, and guys like Rabb and Davis should see a ton of court time. Welcome to the NBA on April 6th during Tankapalooza 2018.

The Risky Cheap Play On This Team

Memphis will be without Gasol, Green, Martin, Selden, Evans, Parsons, Harrison, and Conley tonight. Davis played 21 minutes against New Orleans on Wednesday, and that was with Martin (22mins) and Gasol (20mins) playing. We have no idea what to expect, but with that said, there is some risk/reward with Davis. Outside of Rabb and Davis, Memphis will have to play small, but they're going to have to play these big guys 25+ minutes each. I think Davis will be overlooked on this team, which makes him a good GPP play for me.

Jarell Martin (knee) and Ben McLemore (personal) ruled out Monday; Deyonta Davis (ankle) now will play

Martin has officially been ruled out and won't play in Monday's game against the San Antonio Spurs despite originally being listed as probable on the Memphis Grizzlies' injury report with a right knee injury, while Ben McLemore has also been ruled out as he tends to a personal matter even though was never given a designation on the injury report throughout the day. Additionally, Deyonta Davis has been cleared to play after previously being listed out in the latest version of game notes released earlier in the day. The Grizzlies will still also be without Tyreke Evans, Andrew Harrison, and Mario Chalmers leaving them thin at several positions, but especially at point guard, where Kobi Simmons will be forced into the starting lineup to man the point and also allow Xavier Rathan-Mayes to see significant rotational minutes in his Grizzlies debut as the only other true point guard on the active roster. Additionally, Wayne Selden and Chandler Parsons logged just 10 and 12 minutes, respectively, in their last games played as they work their way back from extended injury absences, so Bickerstaff will likely need to continue relying more on players like Simmons, Myke Henry, and Ivan Rabb to absorb substantial playing time at their respective positions.

Deyonta Davis (ankle) listed out Monday

Davis has been listed out on the latest updated version of the Memphis Grizzlies' game notes for Monday's game against the San Antonio Spurs after previously being listed as questionable on the original injury report with a lingering left ankle issue that has now forced him to miss four consecutive games. While game notes can be relatively unreliable depending on the team, it's probably best to approach Monday's slate as if Davis will be unavailable given the length of time he's already been sidelined with the aforementioned ankle injury. The Grizzlies will already be without Deyonta Davis, Tyreke Evans, Andrew Harrison, and Mario Chalmers leaving them thin at several positions, but especially at point guard, where Kobi Simmons is likely to be forced into the starting lineup to man the point and also allow Xavier Rathan-Mayes to see significant rotational minutes in his Grizzlies debut as the only other true point guard on the active roster. The absence of Davis will only directly affect Ivan Rabb, who will be thrust into the backup center role at a minimum, depending on the status of Marc Gasol, who currently remains listed as questionable with left and right quad injuries.

Andrew Harrison (wrist), Tyreke Evans (rib), and Deyonta Davis (ankle) ruled out Saturday; JaMychal Green (illness) and Wayne Selden (knee) questionable; Chandler Parsons (illness) probable

Harrison, Evans, and Davis have all been added to the Memphis Grizzlies' injury and won't play in Saturday's game against the Orlando Magic due to their respective ailments, though Davis was the only one to suit up for the first game of the back-to-back set on Friday evening. Meanwhile, JaMychal Green and Wayne Selden are listed as questionable, and Chandler Parsons is still dealing with an illness but has been upgraded to probable on the injury report. Unfortunately, the optimal way to attack this injury situation in daily fantasy formats is still up in the air, as it largely depends on the status of Green and Selden, but either way, Jarell Martin should be locked into a significant playing time as a starter and has logged less than 32 minutes just once in the last four games. Selden was limited to just 10 minutes in his return from an extended injury absence on Friday, and his restriction allowed Mario Chalmers, Ben McLemore, and Myke Henry all to step into more extensive roles in the backcourt and wing rotations.

Marc Gasol (rest) ruled out Saturday; Deyonta Davis will start

Gasol is a late scratch from the Memphis Grizzlies' starting lineup and won't play in Saturday's game against the Miami Heat due to presumed planned rest, despite not previously being listed on the injury report at any point throughout the day. In his absence, Deyonta Davis will draw the start at center and was already in line for more playing time prior to news of Gasol's unavailability, as interim head coach JB Bickerstaff wants to begin allocating more minutes to younger players for the stretch run with Memphis well out of playoff contention. The Grizzlies are also with Tyreke Evans, Wayne Selden, and Chandler Parsons, they'll need to rely on Mario Chalmers and Ben McLemore as the primary guards off the bench, since Dillon Brooks will slide over to the shooting guard spot in the starting lineup and allow Jarell Martin to draw the start alongside JaMychal Green at one of the forward positions, just as he did the last time Evans and Selden were sidelined in the same game prior to the All-Star break. With the aforementioned players off the court this season, Brooks Andrew Harrison both own at least a +5.9% usage rate differential, while Harrison leads the way with a +0.38 increase in his per minute production and is averaging 1.18 fantasy points per minute on DraftKings and FanDuel in this scenario as well.

Deyonta Davis (sore knees) remains out Wednesday

Davis has officially been ruled out and won't play in Wednesday's game against the Utah Jazz due to the sore left and right knees that have now forced him to miss two consecutive games, while Chandler Parsons will remain sidelined for the 19th consecutive game with a sore right knee. Wayne Selden has started the last seven games in place of Tyreke Evans, who is still away from the team while the Grizzlies front office attempts to finalize a trade to a contender, and has averaged right around 30 minutes per game in those starts, making him a viable tournament target on tonight's slate. That said, the players that have benefitted the most with the aforementioned players and Mike Conley off the court this season have been Andrew Harrison and Dillon Brooks, as each own at least a +4.8% usage rate differential and have seen noteworthy spikes in their per minute production in this scenario.
