Veteran defenseman turning back the clock as of late

Brent Seabrook is set to miss tonight's contest once again. Last time out, Duncan Keith logged over 26 minutes of ice time and collected a pair of assists while taking two shots on goal and blocking three shots. While the aging blue liner is no longer on the team's top power play unit, he figures to see 25-plus minutes again tonight in what should be a fast-paced game. While Detroit is not as bad as Ottawa is defensively, Keith can contribute even if he doesn't find the scoresheet. At sub-$5,000 prices on both DraftKings and FanDuel on a night without the usual suspects up top on defense, and where Mark Giordano is in a tough matchup, Keith provides from salary relief.

Target This American Hero Tonight

Two seasons removed from becoming the the first American born player to earn the Hart Trophy as the league's MVP, Patrick Kane continues to be a force offensively for an inconsistent Blackhawks team. Aside from his unparalleled playmaking abilities, a major component of Kane's strong start to this season is the fact that he leads all Chicago forwards in ice time despite not factoring into the team's penalty kill. Tonight "Kaner" will have a great opportunity to keep his fantastic overall season going against a depleted Ottawa squad that owns the second worst xGA/60 over their last 15 games on tonight's slate. Skating alongside playmakers Nick Schmaltz and Ryan Hartman on Chicago's second line and top power play unit, look for this trio to breakout on the man advantage against an Ottawa penalty kill that ranks 28th in the NHL this year and has allowed seven power play goals over their last five games.

Veteran defenseman is quietly putting up points.

While five points in eight games is nothing to write home about, Duncan Keith has picked up these points in five separate games. He has given you a very solid floor for a guy that has incredible tournament upside when the Blackhawks are scoring. He is priced outside of the top 10 defensemen on DraftKings, making him not somebody that really hinders your lineup by rostering him. Along with the points, has 23 shots and 12 blocks in the eight games, again building a solid floor to work off of with the offensive potential. He plays on the top power play unit which will always increase the upside.
