Dwight Buycks Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Reggie Bullock (back) will start Thursday; Dwight Buycks (ankle) available to play

Bullock has officially been cleared to play and will start in Thursday's game against the Denver Nuggets after previously being listed as questionable on the Detroit Pistons' injury report with a sore back that had forced him to miss one game, while Dwight Buycks will also be available to play following his original questionable designation due to a sprained right ankle that had kept him sidelined for two games. The return of Bullock to the starting lineup will send Stanley Johnson back to the bench to resume a reserve role after logging 31 minutes in his spot start at shooting guard, as head coach Stan Van Gundy has already confirmed that James Ennis will continue to start at small forward for at least one additional game. Prior to his injury absence, Bullock had become a semi-reliable option for daily fantasy formats by exceeding salary based expectations in four of his last six games.

Dwight Buycks and Stanley Johnson listed out Friday

Dwight Buycks and Stanley Johnson will both miss tonight's game against the Bulls. With Johnson out, James Ennis and Luke Kennard with both see some extra run, although neither profiles as a solid per-minute contributor. Both Ennis and Kennard played over 30 minutes last game, with Johnson out. Langston Galloway will likely receive most of Buycks' minutes, and there's a chance Jameer Nelson cracks the rotation.

Dwight Buycks (illness) ruled out Monday; Luke Kennard (toe) questionable

Buycks has officially been ruled out and won't play in tonight's game against the Portland Trail Blazers after previously being listed as questionable on the Detroit Pistons' injury report with an illness that has now forced him to miss two consecutive games. Meanwhile, Luke Kennard remains questionable with a sore left great toe that has already kept him sidelined for one game. Head coach Stan Van Gundy opted to utilize a tight seven-man rotation for the most part in Saturday's contest with Buycks and Kennard unavailable, forcing Anthony Tolliver into extensive minutes at both forward positions. In their absences, Langston Galloway served as the primary backup point guard behind Ish Smith and had a significant role in the backcourt rotation. The massive minute allotments of the starting unit in the previous game may be in some doubt for Monday's contest, as the Pistons have recalled Kay Felder and Reggie Hearns from the G-League to provide some depth at the guard positions, though it does remain unclear whether they will actually see any playing time if Kennard is ruled out closer to tipoff.

Luke Kennard (foot) and Dwight Buycks (illness) ruled out Saturday

Kennard and Buycks have both officially been ruled out and won't play in tonight's game against the Miami Heat due to their respective ailments despite never appearing on the Detroit Pistons' injury report at any point throughout the day. Head coach Stan Van Gundy opted to utilize an eight-man rotation for the most part in Thursday's win with Blake Griffin making his Pistons debut, but Kennard and Buycks were integral parts of that rotation, each logging roughly 20 minutes off the bench. In their absences, Langston Galloway figures to serve as the primary backup point guard behind Ish Smith and step into a sizable role in the backcourt rotation. It seems unlikely that Van Gundy would insert anyone else into the rotation to absorb minutes on the wing, so Reggie Bullock and Stanley Johnson figure to be allotted all the minutes they can handle, leaving them in consideration for daily fantasy formats, despite elevated price tags across the industry.

Low Owned In A Chalk Game

When looking at the Pistons tonight, there's a lot to love with all of the extra minutes available. The non chalk option and the extremely risky play tonight is Dwight Buycks. They moved Galloway back to the bench against the Cavs on Sunday, and Buycks played 20 minutes as the backup point guard. He played really good on Sunday, and with SVG trying different rotations, I'd expect him to give Buycks 16-24 minutes tonight.
