Top pairing for solid Finnish blue liner
Esa Lindell has a modest 20 points in 49 games, but he has benefited lately from skating with John Klingberg at even-strength. In Dallas' final game before the All-Star break, Lindell picked up a pair of assists while logging over 27 minutes of ice time in the Stars' 4-2 win over Winnipeg. Lindell makes for a nice compliment to Klingberg in all formats or just a way to differentiate from the premium defensemen available tonight.
Unheralded Defenseman in Prime Spot to Produce
The Finnish blue liner does not rack up huge point totals as demonstrated by his 18 points in 73 games last season, but he logs heavy minutes for a Dallas Stars squad looking to impress new coach Ken Hitchcock. With so many expensive stars available on this slate, Esa Lindell is a viable source of saving salary. Lindell plays at even-strength with John Klingberg, and Esa also sees time on the team's second power play unit. The Vegas Golden Knights figure to be the weakest team in the league this season, especially on the road, and even though it is only the first game of the season, Dallas should dictate play here. At just $3,500 on FanDuel and DraftKings as well as a tiny $6,800 on FantasyDraft, Esa Lindell makes for an excellent relief option on this short slate.
