Ranger rookie heating up again

Rookie heating up again. After a six game drought, Filip Chytil has come alive recently with three goals and two assists in his last six games. Surprisingly, the Rangers have won 4 of their last 6 games. Chytil skates on the third line which lowers his value a bit, but Philadelphia's bottom six is nothing to fear. Moreover, Chytil sees decent power play minutes and will fly under the radar even on a three game slate. He's a worthy target in tournaments.

Target League's Worst Defense

The Ottawa Senators' defense this year has been the worst in the NHL, and it's honestly not that close. They have allowed 107 goals in 25 games, or 4.28 goals per game. Vancouver is the second worst at 3.55, so the gap is quite significant. Tonight, they face a depleted Rangers team, but that means more minutes to go around to cheap players. Filip Chytil's price has finally gotten a bump, but he's still affordable considering his role. He has points in 6 of his last 8 games, and that should get better against the league's worst defense.

This line has been on fire for the New York Rangers.

Whether you consider them to be the top line or not, Chris Kreider, Kevin Hayes and Filip Chytil have been incredible for the New York Rangers. Kreider has picked up 6 goals and 11 points over the last 10 games, while Hayes has also picked up 11 points and Chytil has scored 5 goals. Tonight they have a home game against an Ottawa Senators team that is allowing 4.35 goals per game — the worst mark in the NHL.

Ranger rookie looks to find his scoring touch again

Filip Chytil is pointless in consecutive games, but prior to that he had scored a goal in five consecutive games. Chytil is still dirt-cheap across the industry (DraftKings - $4,000 & FanDuel - $3,800) and has the pleasure of taking on the leaky Senators' defense which continues to get gashed, especially on the road where they are allowing the most goals per game (4.35 GA/G) in the National Hockey League. After riding pine for the first month of the season, Filip has taken on an increased role and he's been quite efficient with it. He is a strong option in all formats this evening.

A goal in four straight games for dirt-cheap rookie

Filip Chytil is finally getting the ice time he deserves, and he is making the most of it. Chytil has potted a goal in each of his last four games for the surprising New York Rangers, who are quietly 7-1-1 in November. This season under Barry Trotz, the Islanders have done a much better job limiting opposing teams, but they have allowed 11 goals over their last two contests, including five against this same Rangers team. Chytil is affordable across the industry (DraftKings - $3,900 & FanDuel - $3,600) and makes for an interesting play in tournaments as his linemates Chris Kreider and Kevin Hayes have been quite the duo lately. Furthermore, Chytil is starting to see sufficient, consistent time on the power play which boosts his value considerably. Roll him out again.

An excellent value option at the center position

A matchup against the Colorado Avalanche should be fantasy gold once again this season, and when you can roster a second-line center at nearly the minimum price, it's tough to ignore. With Derek Stepan logging his minutes in the desert this season, Filip Chytil impressed the New York front office enough during the preseason to earn a very favorable role between Rick Nash and Mats Zuccarello. He was selected 21st overall in the April's NHL Draft and posted a goal, two assists and 14 SOG in his four preseason appearances. Colorado was at the bottom of the barrel in nearly every defensive category last season, and we'll likely see more of the same this time around.
