Frank Mason ruled out Monday

Frank Mason will miss tonight's game against the Spurs with a heel injury. Mason hasn't been seeing a ton of minutes lately. De'Aaron Fox should play a couple extra minutes tonight.

Frank Mason starting for De'Aaron Fox; Kosta Koufos, Skal Labissiere starting in the front-court

It's not ultimately clear what this means for Zach Randolph, but it still seems likely that he sees somewhere in the neighborhood of 18-26 minutes off the bench with Willie Cauley-Stein inactive. This is the Kings we're dealing with, so anything is possible. Frank Mason is the top value play on the late-slate and Koufos' stock rises with him being confirmed as a starter. Labissiere is the best bet to lead the Kings front-court in minutes and he's likely to be the top overall producer among the three, but Koufos may prove to be the better value.

De'Aaron Fox (illness), Skal Labissiere (shoulder), and Frank Mason (heel) probable Saturday; Kosta Koufos (illness) questionable

Fox has officially been upgraded to probable on the Sacramento Kings' injury report for Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers due to conjunctivitis that has already forced him to miss one game, while, Skal Labissiere and Frank Mason are also listed as probable but should be fully expected to play after logging 26 and 15 minutes, respectively, in their returns from extended injury absences in Thursday's loss. Additionally, Kosta Koufos is questionable with an illness that forced him to be a late scratch in the Kings' previous game. Even with Labissiere returning to the lineup, Zach Randolph played a season-high 37 minutes on Thursday en route to easily exceeding salary-based expectations, a surprise performance that begins to cast some doubt on Sacramento's rotation plans moving forward since head coach Dave Joerger announced some time ago that the team intended to rest one or two veteran players in every game for the remainder of the season. Additionally, the impending return of Fox will send Garrett Temple back to the bench to resume a reserve role after recording 32 minutes in his spot start, and he figures to see that playing time drastically reduced with Fox and Mason both expected to be active for the first time in a while.

George Hill (personal) and Frank Mason (heel) remain out Tuesday

Hill has been ruled out and won't play in tonight's game against the Los Angeles Lakers as he continues to tend to a personal matter that has now forced him to miss three consecutive games. The Sacramento Kings are also still without Frank Mason and there are several ways head coach Dave Joerger could go with his starting lineup sans Hill, but Buddy Hield and Bogdan Bogdanovic should be in line for increased playing time on the wing, even though Malachi Richardson seems likely to draw the start at small forward for the third time in as many games. De'Aaron Fox is essentially the only point guard on the Kings active roster and this is one of the few times we can feel confident in his minute workload after he has averaged 32.5 minutes with Hill sidelined the past two games. Over the last month, with Hill and Mason off the court, Fox, Garrett Temple, Willie Cauley-Stein have been the main beneficiaries from a usage standpoint, as each own at least a +2.0% usage rate differential, while Cauley-Stein leads the team with a rate of 1.17 fantasy points per minute on DraftKings and 1.24 on FanDuel in this scenario.

De'Aaron Fox (quad) available to play Tuesday; Frank Mason (heel) to miss one week

Fox has been cleared to play and will suit up for tonight's game against the Charlotte Hornets after previously being listed as questionable on the Sacramento Kings injury report with a partially torn right quad that had forced him to miss six consecutive games, while Frank Mason will be sidelined for approximately one week with a right heel contusion he sustained in Sunday's loss. Mason had served as the primary backup point guard when Fox and George Hill have started alongside each other in the backcourt, but head coach Dave Joerger may be forced to bring one of them off the bench to make it easier to stagger their playing time. This means that Bogdan Bogdanovic and Garrett Temple should both remain in the starting lineup, and the former has really settled into a consistent high-20s-to-low-30s minutes role in the Kings rotation.
