Jeremy McNichols and Geoff Swaim have been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. McNichols was unable to clear the concussion protocol so the Titans backfield will be led by D’Onta Foreman and Adrian Peterson. The backfield still seems to be settling in the wake of the Derrick Henry news but at this point it seems as though Foreman would be the back to roster as he has seen more snaps and has looked to be the best ball carrier for the Titans so far. Geoff Swaim was also unable to clear the concussion protocol so MyCole Pruitt and Anthony Firkser will likely split tight end snaps on Sunday.

It will be important to see how McNichols progresses through the protocol and if he is cleared in time to play this weekend in a juicy matchup against the woeful Texans defense. Geoff Swaim is also dealing with a concussion and if he were to miss MyCole Pruitt and Anthony Firkser would likely split tight end snaps on Sunday.

Geoff Swaim is inactive Sunday, opening up some work for Anthony Firkser and MyCole Pruitt behind top TE Jonnu Smith.

A.J. Brown, Darrynton Evans and Geoff Swaim are all inactive Sunday. None of these inactives are surprising, and the outlook for the Titans remains the same: Derrick Henry should get significant touches all day in a game where they are heavy favorites.

Swaim was placed on injured reserve Wednesday by the Jaguars. This opens up the TE1 spot for Josh Oliver with Seth DeValve as the backup. Last week Oliver made his debut, playing 30% of the snaps but not receiving a target.

Both Lee and Swaim played last week but combined for just 2 targets. Westbrook would be a significant loss for the Jaguars. He has 19 targets over the last two weeks and has been a solid 2nd WR behind DJ Chark. Chris Conley should see increased usage from the WR injuries.

There is a good chance both Lee and Swaim will be out this week for Jacksonville. Oliver has been limited in practice for a couple weeks and not been able to play, so he should still be considered unlikely to play until he can practice fully.

O'Shaughnessy tore his ACL and will be out for the rest of the 2019 season. Geoff Swaim will see an increase in targets while Josh Oliver will take up the backup role when healthy.

Swaim has been added to the Jaguars' injury report with an illness. Swaim only has 8 catches for 39 yards on 10 targets in 2019. If he can't go, TE James O'Shaughnessy could see extra opportunity and would be more viable on afternoon slates tomorrow due to the lack of elite tight end options.

The Jaguars did not practice Wednesday, but instead released an estimate practice participation report. WR Marqise Lee would have been a full participant while Josh Oliver would not have participated. Lee has been working back from injury and his role isn't clear with Dede Westbrook, Chris Conley and D.J. Chark all set ahead of him. Oliver is already behind Geoff Swaim and James O'Shaughnessy at TE, and the impact of him missing week 1 would be minimal.
