Gerald Henderson Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Sergio Rodriguez remains OUT for 76ers; Dario Saric still on minutes limit
Rodriguez has been out since March 26th and is out once again today meaning T.J. McConnell will likely start at PG and be a viable DFS option. Gerald Henderson and Tiago Splitter are both available but are not viable DFS options while Dario Saric will continue to be on a 24 minute limit thus removing him as a viable DFS play.
Tiago Splitter (calf) available to play tonight; Gerald Henderson (hip) probable
Splitter is officially available to play in tonight's game against the Brooklyn Nets after previously being listed as probable with a calf injury, while Gerald Henderson remains probably with a hip issue. Splitter played just under 7 minutes in Sunday's contest, so his presence in the rotation does not have an effect on the other Sixers frontcourt players, even with the team shorthanded and Dario Saric on a minute limit. Henderson is fully expected to play but he has really taken a back seat to Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, Justin Anderson, and Nik Stauskas on the wing in recent games. That trio along with T.J. McConnell remain the primary Sixers to target with Richaun Holmes and Shawn Long essentially splitting center minutes.
Sergio Rodriguez remains OUT for 76ers; Henderson and Splitter probable and Saric on minutes limit
Rodriguez hasn't played since March 26th and is out again today meaning T.J. McConnell will once again get the start at PG and be a viable DFS option, especially facing the Brooklyn Nets. Gerald Henderson and Tiago Splitter are both probable but are not viable DFS options while news came out today that phenom rookie Dario Saric will be on a 24 minute limit the remainder of the season thus removing him as a viable DFS play.
Dario Saric (heel) will be limited to 24 minutes tonight; Gerald Henderson (hip) probable
Saric will play in tonight's game against the Toronto Raptors but will be held to a "guideline" of 24 minutes due to left heel soreness, while Gerald Henderson has been listed as probable but is expected to play. The Sixers are down to just 10 available players including the limited Saric and recently signed Alex Poythress, who's role still remains unknown. Richaun Holmes and Shawn Long should be expected to absorb a majority of the available center and power forward minutes, while Justin Anderson will likely also spend some time at the four which could allow the aforementioned Henderson to possibly see some extra run on the wing, if healthy, with Robert Covington out for the remainder of the season. There's a ton of value available on this Sixers squad, but Anderson, Holmes, Long, and T.J. McConnell look to be the best options to target.
Gerald Henderson and Tiago Splitter both probable for 76ers tonight
Neither player should log significant playing time and are not viable DFS options. They will take a few minutes, however, from the likes of Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and Nik Stauskas though so give them a slight downgrade.
Jahlil Okafor and Robert Covington ruled out for tonight; Gerald Henderson and Tiago Splitter probable
Okafor will not play in tonight's game against the Atlanta Hawks after previously being listed as questionable on the Sixers' injury report with a sore right knee that has now forced him to miss four consecutive games. Robert Covington has also been ruled out with a sore right knee despite never being assigned an injury designation at any point during the day, while Gerald Henderson and Tiago Splitter have been listed as probable. The news of Henderson being expected to play is the most interesting takeaway here, as he will likely backup Justin Anderson and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot on the wing and see substantial playing time. However, Anderson, Stauskas, and Luwawu-Cabarrot are all preferred targets in any format over Henderson, while T.J. McConnell and Dario Saric still remain elite options in all formats and should see a nice usage bump without Covington and Okafor available.
Jahlil Okafor and Gerald Henderson OUT for 76ers; Sergio Rodriguez and Tiago Splitter questionable
Okafor remains out for Philadelphia while Henderson has been ruled out after playing in the teams last game with left hip soreness. Sergio Rodriguez has been downgraded to questionable while Tiago Splitter went through the team shootaround and is also questionable. Richaun Holmes will continue to be the biggest beneficiary of Okafor sitting and is a viable option going against Brook Lopez and the Nets tonight. Rodriguez is coming off a solid outing but has been downgraded to questionable with hamstring tightness. If he can't go, T.J. McConnell will see all the work he can handle at the point. With Henderson out and Rodriguez shaky, expect Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot to log some heavy minutes as well.
Jahlil Okafor (sore knee) and Gerald Henderson (rest) ruled out; Justin Anderson (illness) available to play
Okafor will not play in tonight's game against the Orlando Magic after previously being considered questionable with a sore right knee that he reaggravated in Sunday's win over the Boston Celtics, while Gerald Henderson will be rested on the second leg of a back-back set and third game in four nights for Philadelphia. Richaun Holmes will draw the start at center in Okafor's place Additionally, Justin Anderson will be available to play off the bench despite previously being listed as doubtful on the Sixers' injury report with an illness that had forced him to miss one game. Holmes was already in play on Monday's slate but now becomes an elite option as the primary center available in the Sixers rotation. The only other center on the Sixers active roster is Shawn Long, who is highly unlikely to see more than 20 minutes playing time.
Gerald Henderson will start for Robert Covington (knee) tonight
Covington will not play in tonight's game against the Los Angeles Lakers due to a sore right knee despite never appearing on the Sixers' injury report at any point throughout the day. Gerald Henderson will be available to play after resting his sore hip in Saturday's loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. Henderson will be reinserted into the starting lineup in place of Covington, which allows Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot to slide over to small forward and remain in the starting lineup for at least one more game. Unfortunately, Henderson and Luwawu-Cabarrot aren't particularly interesting daily fantasy options, even in a plus matchup with a putrid Lakers defensive unit. It would be better to focus exposure on the remaining Philadelphia starters and Justin Anderson off the bench if looking for a contrarian tournament target.
