Golden Tate Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Golden Tate inactive

Golden Tate is inactive Sunday, as expected. Tate did not practice all week, and will miss his second straight game. Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton should continue to see work as the top options at WR for Daniel Jones.

Golden Tate (calf) officially ruled out for Sunday

Tate was a mid-week addition to the injury report, and he's officially been ruled out of Sunday's Week 16 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens due to a calf injury. The Giants rarely use four wide-receiver sets, so more than likely just one of Austin Mack or C.J. Board will see snaps at wide receiver with Tate sidelined, but with Board running sporadic routes over the last weeks, he may be the leading candidate to step into a larger role when New York finds themselves in base 1-1 personnel sets. However, either way, it's difficult to imagine Board or Mack seeing enough volume to become relevant on daily fantasy slates across the industry this weekend.

Golden Tate active Sunday; Dante Pettis inactive

It has been quite a turnaround for Golden Tate. He is active Sunday, just one week after being inactive due to a behavioral issue. Dante Pettis will not make his Giants debut, as he inactive Sunday.

Golden Tate not traveling with the Giants, won't play Sunday

Tate will not play Sunday, a punishment stemming from disagreements by Tate over his role with the team. At this point, Tate is unlikely to play for the Giants again. Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard have taken on the top-WR roles for the Giants in recent weeks, and that trend should continue Sunday.

Golden Tate Active, Wayne Gallman Inactive Sunday

As expected, Golden Tate is active Sunday, and will make his season debut. The Giants are underdogs against the Bears, and an early deficit would force Jones into passing frequently all game. With Tate back, the Giants should have all their top weapons, which could help an offense that scored just 16 points in week 1 while gaining just 291 total yards.

Schefter Late Night Tweets: Duke Johnson, Michael Pittman Jr. not expected to play; Brandin Cooks, Golden Tate, Zach Pascal, Gerald Everett all expected to play

Per Adam Schefter, the Texans won't have Duke Johnson on Sunday, clearing the way for David Johnson to continue leading Houston's backfield. They will have Brandin Cooks in action, although he's still a shaky play given the matchup. The Colts won't have Michael Pittman Jr. on Sunday but will have Zach Pascal active. With Jack Doyle also out, Parris Campbell could benefit from added looks over the middle with Mo Alie-Cox set to see an uptick in snaps at the TE spot. T.Y. Hilton has plenty of bounce-back appeal against a Vikings secondary that was just shredded by the Packers. As for the Giants, they are expected to get Golden Tate back, which is a plus for their depth but sieves some value from Sterling Shepard. Tate shouldn't be expected to log a heavy snap count in his debut. Schefter has also noted that Gerald Everett is expected to play while the Chargers won't have Justin Jackson, potentially affording Josh Kelly some extra work.

Golden Tate (hamstring) officially listed as questionable for Sunday

Tate has been listed as questionable on the Giants' official injury report for Sunday's Week 2 matchup against the Chicago Bears due to a hamstring injury that already forced him to miss one game. However, Tate was able to be a limited participant in practice all week, so he appears on track to be active and play some type of role in the Giants wide receiver corps this weekend, which could throw quite a wrench into the target distribution that was recorded in the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night. Darius Slayton narrowly outpaced Sterling Shepard in routes run in that contest while accumulating 46% of the air yards market share, so his deep-threat role in the offense appears unlikely to change even if the number of total targets decreases with Tate likely back in the mix this weekend.

Golden Tate (hamstring) inactive Monday night

Tate was limited in practice all week and will officially be inactive for Monday night's season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers after testing out his injured hamstring during pregame warmups. The Giants are taking the cautious approach in an attempt to prevent Tate from aggravating his ailing hammy, and his absence from the receivers corps will open up more space for Evan Engram to operate in the middle of the field, while Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton also figure to see an increase in their target market share. With no clear backup to Tate, it would seem likely that Engram and Shepard absorb a majority of the vacated routes from the slot whereas C.J. Board and Damion Ratley benefit from whatever snaps are leftover at the wide receiver position this evening.

Golden Tate, Levine Toilolo Questionable for Monday Night

Golden Tate and Levine Toilolo are both listed as questionable for Monday night with hamstring injuries. Both are likely to be available to play, although Toilolo isn't expected to be a factor even if healthy. Tate was limited in all three practices this week, so he may have some limitations even if active.

Golden Tate (Foot) Practices Fully Thursday

Tate practiced fully Thursday, meaning he will play this week barring a setback in practice tomorrow.
