Green Bay Packers Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Packers T Bryan Bulaga (Illness) is Active Today Vs. the Seahawks

The Packers will have one of their best offensive lineman against the Seahawks this afternoon. Bulaga popped up on the injury report later in the week, but will push through his illness. His presence on the field is a boost for the running game as well as pass protection against Jadeveon Clowney and the Seahawks' front seven.

Packers DBs Jaire Alexander (Groin) and Adrian Amos (Hamstring) are Both Active Today

The Packers will be at full strength in the secondary today against the Panthers.

Packers LB Blake Martinez and S Darnell Savage are Both Active Tonight

Savage will return from injury, while Martinez will quarterback the Packers defense in tonight's showdown vs. the Chiefs.

Packers S Darnell Savage (Ankle), LB Blake Martinez (Wrist/Hand) Expected to Play Tonight Vs. Chiefs

Savage is officially a game-time decision but likely to go. Martinez should play as well, barring a setback. This overall is a big boost to the Green Bay defense for tonight against Matt Moore and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Packers ILB Blake Martinez (Wrist/Hand) Questionable for Tomorrow at Kansas City

Martinez was re-added to the injury report after being removed for the same ailments earlier in the week. If the tackling machine cannot go vs. the Chiefs, it would be a big blow to the Packers defense.

Green Bay Defense could be without key players down the stretch

Having been eliminated for playoff contention the Green Bay Packers could look to play it safe with injured players over the next two weeks. The team tagged Davon House and Clay Matthews as questionable for Saturday and OLB Nick Perry as Doubtful. The already easy to attack defense just got a little easier to pick on, thus setting up a dream matchup for Case Keenum and the Vikings pass game.

Packers CB Kevin King placed on IR

He's been battling a shoulder injury the past few weeks. They activated CB Demetri Goodson off the PUP list to take his spot but he wasn't able to practice today. Neither was CB Davon House, so the Packers could be very thin in their secondary this weekend against the Browns. The injury situation could improve an already favorable spot for Josh Gordon, who saw 11 targets in his season debut last week. After the game, Casey Hayward, PFF's top cover corner, said Gordon was his toughest assignment of the season and he's faced the likes of Odell Beckham Jr., Dez Bryant, Brandin Cooks, and several other notable guys. Although Hayward held Gordon to four catches, the receiver was able to turn them into 85 yards. He'll have a much better matchup for his second outing. As a unit, the Packers are allowing the fourth-most PPR points to WRs and rank 29th in WR1 DVOA. Considering Gordon is just $5.5k on DK, it's not surprising he's currently projected to carry the highest ownership this week (35%).

Ty Montgomery and CB Kevin King ruled out for Week 13

Montgomery (ribs) will miss his third straight game. Aaron Jones has been dealing with a knee injury he suffered in Week 10. If he's able to suit up this weekend without limitations, he should resume his starting role. While Jamaal Williams had a very nice game against the Steelers with 135 total yards and two TDs, he's been an inefficient runner, averaging 3.4 yards per carry or less in all three starts this season. Jones has been a little up and down but he's flashed some serious upside, posting 125 or more rushing yards in two of the four games he's picked up double-digit carries. It'll be a backfield to watch heading into Sunday as Jones could potentially be on a snap count if he plays, leaving him in a timeshare with Williams. Tampa Bay ranks 14th in adjusted line yards (per FO) and they've given up the 11th-most PPR points to RBs. With King out, Josh Hawkins will likely work in on nickel packages, he's PFF's 92nd-ranked cover corner and will mostly see Mike Evans when he's on the field, setting up a nice matchup for the receiver, who's averaged 10.1 targets per game over the course of his career when Jameis Winston is under center.

Update: LB Clay Matthews, DT Kenny Clark, and Aaron Jones practicing Wednesday

Ty Montgomery and CB Kevin King were sidelined. Jones has been dealing with a knee injury he suffered in Week 10. If he's able to make his return this weekend without limitations, he should resume his starting role. While Jamaal Williams had a very nice game against the Steelers with 135 total yards and two TDs, he's been an inefficient runner, averaging 3.4 yards per carry or less in all three starts this season. Although he's been a little up and down, Jones has flashed some serious upside, posting 125 or more rushing yards in two of the four games he's picked up double-digit carries. The Packers backfield is certainly one to monitor this week.
