Gustav Nyquist Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
This center is having a breakout season
Before the season, not many would have predict Tomas Hertl being second on the San Jose Sharks in goals and tied for second in points at this point in the season. Well, he is, and his current linemates are also the best he's had. He's centering the Sharks second line with Evander Kane and Gustav Nyquist and they could have a very good matchup tonight as Marc-Andre Fleury did not travel with the team which means they will take on Malcolm Subban on a back-to-back or Maxime Legace.
This could be a sneaky-good underowned option for tonight.
Dylan Larkin has had a solid start of 2019, with 7 goals and 14 goals in 15 games so far. The Detroit Red Wings have stacked their top line with what little talent they have as Larkin will be centering Anthony Mantha and Gustav Nyquist. This line also remains together on the top power play unit which gives them full-game correlation. Additionally, the opposing Ottawa Senators have been terrible. Over the last month, they are dead last allowing a 66.83 CA/60 which should give this line plenty of opportunities.
The Top Point-Per-Dollar Play On The Wing Tonight?
The Arizona Coyotes finally got their first win of the season last night in Philadelphia, but it is very unlikely they win back-to-back road games while playing their second game in as many nights. The Coyotes defensive game has been a major issue in 2017-18 (21st in CA/60 and 29th in GA/60), and their goaltender will continue to be subpar (allowing a league high 4.25 goals against per game) until they get back starting goalie Antti Raanta. Not to mention, the Desert Dogs own the National Hockey Leagues worst penalty kill, and all of this puts the Detroit Red Wings offense at the top of our list tonight in all formats. Skating on the Red Wings top line and number one power play unit, both Tomas Tatar and Gustav Nyquist have multi-point potential at a very reasonable price.
Beefy Winger Takes Sizzling Start to Toronto
The 6' 5" product of Quebec is off to a sizzling start to the new season with seven points (3 goals, 4 assists) in six games. Mantha forms a formidable top line with Henrik Zetterberg (3 goals, 4 assists) and Gustav Nyquist (2 goals, 1 assist). Last season, Anthony Mantha manufactured 36 points (17 goals, 19 assists) in 60 games played, and he should be in line for an even better season for a decent Detroit team. Mantha played particularly well against the Leafs last year as he found two goals and an assist in three games. Additionally, Anthony potted 82% of his goals on the road last season. It is a tough spot for Toronto after two big wins and career backup Curtis McElhinney likely in net. Anthony should be heavily involved at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto tonight.
