Jaff Decker Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Several Oakland bats (Alonso, Joyce) project as top values on DraftKings

Bryce Harper (168 wRC+, .286 ISO vs RHP since 2015) and Corey Seager (159 wRC+, .223 ISO vs RHP since 2015) break through the Coors bats to each project among the top five overall hitters via tonight's RotoGrinders Player Projections. This is interesting partially because Harper faces a severe reverse platoon split righty (LHBs .290 wOBA vs Kevin Gausman since 2015), but one who has greatly struggled all around this year. Each can be paired with a red hot teammate (Ryan Zimmerman, Cody Bellinger) in potentially potent mini-stacks tonight, particularly if Bellinger bats leadoff tonight. A scenario occurs when sorting by value projections (Pt/$/K) on DraftKings that puts four Oakland bats at the top, though not all are projected to start. The projections see Yonder Alonso (5 HRs over the last week, 51.5 FB%, 39.7 Hard% this year), Matt Joyce (121 wRC+, .210 ISO vs RHP since 2016), Chad Pinder (223 wRC+ over the last week) and Jaff Decker ($2K on DK) as potential top values against Ricky Nolasco (RHBs .347 wOBA, LHBs .313 wOBA since 2015). All four of these bats cost $2.8K or less. Min-priced bats Joey Rickard (127 wRC+, .162 ISO vs LHP career) and Tommy Pham (369 wRC+, 55.6 Hard% last seven days) grab top value spots on FanDuel, along with $2.3K lefty-masher Wilmer Flores (180 wRC+, .338 ISO since 2015).

Bottom of the order Catchers may offer some cheap power tonight

Players looking to save salary tonight should probably be looking to punt Catcher more than any other position and that makes Robinson Chirinos a really interesting name despite the fact that he's batting eighth. The upside against a pitcher who allows so much hard contact (37.1% vs RHBs since 2015) may be high enough to overcome lineup spot for the cost ($3.1K DK/$2.6K FD) Chirinos has a 135 wRC+, .261 ISO vs LHP since 2015 and hits in a great park in Texas tonight. Cameron Rupp (144 wRC+, .286 ISO vs LHP since 2015) is another bat low in the order that could provide some cheap ($2.4K FD) power behind the dish. He and Willson Contreras (116 wRC+, .198 ISO vs RHP) are both $3.3K on DK. Michael Conforto ($3.2K DK) and Seth Smith ($2.8K) are two very affordable, though not incredibly cheap leadoff options. Players are much less likely to want to go cheap at First Base, but Kennys Vargas mashes lefties (220 wRC+, .388 ISO since last season) and costs just $2.4K on FanDuel, batting fifth against Cole Hamels, who hasn't been himself this year. Delino DeShields costs just $2.2K on FanDuel out of the leadoff spot for Texas, but has just an 84 wRC+, .106 ISO vs LHP since 2015. The same can be said about Jaff Decker (88 wRC+, .085 ISO vs RHP) for $2.3K on FD, $2K on DK. Although it's not confirmed yet, stay alert for the San Diego lineup, which has some potential for cheap bats up top in a great park.

Manuel Margot (102 wRC+, .200 ISO vs LHP) among just a few potential salary savers at top of lineup tonight

With Clayton Kershaw on the mound and a Coors game on the slate, players are going to be looking for some cheap bats and on DraftKings, they're rightfully going to gravitate towards Mike Moustakas (132 wRC+, .291 ISO vs RHP since last season) for $3.2K in a great spot, leading off tonight. Jaff Decker has done nothing of merit with the bat (58 wRC+, .070 ISO vs RHP career), but is the rare minimum priced (or close to it) leadoff option tonight, facing a career reliever in JC Ramirez. Mitch Haniger (144 wRC+, .214 ISO vs RHP) is still under-priced on DraftKings ($3.4K), while Manuel Margot (102 wRC+, .200 ISO vs LHP) is just $2.6K on FanDuel, leading off in Arizona. Tyler Collins (95 wRC+, .149 ISO vs RHP since 2016) might be a league average bat for $2.6K or less on either site, batting second against Felix Hernandez. It's otherwise slim pickings when looking for cheap top of the lineup hitters that will offer you something at least close to a league average bat.

Seth Smith & Kevin Pillar are low cost leadoff options on Tuesday night

While usually looking to cut off bargains at $3K on DK & $2.5K on FD, there aren't many tonight, but there are a few player just above those marks today that are difficult to ignore. Mike Moustakas ($3.2K DK) should be a top 3B play with a 134 wRC+ and .302 ISO vs RHP since the beginning of last season (injury shortened). His opponent, Matt Cain has allowed a .400 wOBA to LHBs since 2015. Taylor Motter (also $3.2K on DK) is facing a LHP (Wei-Yin Chen .345 wOBA vs RHBs since 2015) and has a 311 wRC+ over the last week. Michael Conforto ($2.7K on FD) is leading off against a contact prone RHP (Zach Eflin .388 wOBA vs LHBs) and has a .245 career ISO against RHP. Austin Romine (317 wRC+ last seven days) bumps up a spot to seventh against Miguel Gonzalez and costs just $2.6K on DraftKings, a position players may need to punt tonight. Kevin Pillar (89 wRC+, .135 ISO vs LHP since 2016) leads off against Boston spot starter Brian Johnson and costs just $2.4K on FanDuel, where Manny Pina (281 wRC+ last seven days) might be your punt catcher, batting sixth against Brett Anderson for $2.3K. Seth Smith ($2.6K) is probably going to be incredibly popular leading off against Bronson Arroyo. Michael Saunders (101 wRC+, .191 ISO vs RHP since 2016) bats fifth against Zack Wheeler for $2.3K. Unlike previous days, there's just one near minimum leadoff hitter tonight and that's Jaff Decker ($2.1K DK/$2.3K FD), but he's going up against Yu Darvish.
