Jared Cunningham Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Channing Frye to Cavaliers and Anderson Varajeo to Blazers as part of three-way deal
Not earth shattering trade news but neither player will be available for rostering in DFS tonight (not that you would have done so in the first place) as a result of the deal. Jared Cunningham also goes to the Magic as part of the deal but is expected to be released. Reports have surfaced stating Varajeo will be waived by the Blazers.
Jared Cunningham starting for J.R. Smith
Jared Cunningham will be starting for the injured J.R. Smith. Cunningham is a GPP target only and will likely see around 20 minutes tonight. He is more of a scorer than a distributor, but may have a tough time finding shots behind LeBron James and Kevin Love.
J.R. Smith questionable for Friday
Smith did not practice today due to an illness and won't travel with the team to Orlando, but he may catch a flight on his own. The fact that Smith didn't travel with the team puts a lot of doubt around his status for tomorrow. If he's unable to play, Matthew Dellavedova and Jared Cunningham would likely eat up the minutes at SG. Cunningham saw 35 minutes of court time off the bench on Tuesday, but wasn't able to turn them into much, posting just 7 points, a rebound and a steal. Cunningham will be a potential GPP punt target, but he carries a very low floor.
Jared Cunningham starting tonight
Jared Cunningham will be starting tonight and Mo Williams will be coming off the bench. The Cavs likely needed a scoring punch for their bench and wanted to limit Williams after coming off an injury. Cunningham does make for an elite yet risky punt option due to his minutes not being secure. Williams is the crunch time player so look for Cunningham to get about 20 minutes tonight.
Jared Cunningham Starting
Jared Cunningham will be starting for the Cavaliers at SG. Cunningham is in a plus matchup with the Sixers, and could get run in the event there is a blowout.
Jared Cunningham to potentially start over Richard Jefferson
At the morning shoot around, Jared Cunningham was wearing a starters jersey while Richard Jefferson was wearing a bench practice jersey. This opens up the possibility to Cunningham getting the start. Neither are great DFS targets (Cunningham for example is averaging .57 DK fp/min), even at reduced price points and there's uncertainty as to how many minutes the two would play. A situation that's probably best avoided.
