Joffrey Lauvergne Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Rudy Gay (heel) and Joffrey Lauvergne (finger) probable for Wednesday
Gay has been listed as probable on the San Antonio Spurs' injury report for tomorrow's game against the Miami Heat due to a lingering sore right heel, while Joffrey Lauvergne has is also probable with a sprained right middle finger and Kawhi Leonard remains out with right quad tendinopathy. Despite the injury designations, both Gay and Lauvergne should be expected to be available to play, as Gay started in Kyle Anderson's place and saw a season-high 31 minutes on Monday night and Lauvergne received a DNP-CD but he was active. Assuming Gay is ready to go and doesn't suffer a setback with his sore heel, he'll likely be one of the top value options on Wednesday's slate depending on his adjusted price tag across the industry. In fact, Gay trails only LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol among the Spurs starters with a rate of 1.09 fantasy points per minute with Anderson off the court this season.
Kyle Anderson (knee) ruled out Monday; Rudy Gay (heel) and Joffrey Lauvergne (finger) probable
Anderson has been ruled out and won't play in tonight's game against the Detroit Pistons due to what's been diagnosed as a sprained left MCL and is expected to miss two-to-three weeks. Additionally, both Rudy Gay and Joffrey Lauvergne have been listed as probable on the San Antonio Spurs' injury report, and Gay appears to be set to make his return from a brief one-game absence. Gay may finally end up finding his way into the starting lineup for Monday's contest in Anderson's place, though that wouldn't necessarily lock him into big minutes as he has yet to play more than 26 minutes in any game this season. With LaMarcus Aldridge and Tony Parker expected back after being rested on Sunday, Dejounte Murray will head to the bench to resume his normal reserve role after playing a whopping 39 minutes in his spot start. However, there is still a possibility that Brandon Paul remains in the starting unit for Anderson, if Gay doesn't start, and was more than serviceable in 33 minutes of action Sunday night, though that total is likely inflated by Manu Ginobili's surprise and unannounced DNP-CD.
Danny Green (hamstring) will play Tuesday; Joffrey Lauvergne (ankle) ruled out
Green will suit up and play in tonight's game against the Dallas Mavericks, according to San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, after previously being listed as questionable on the injury report with right hamstring tightness that had forced him to miss Saturday's contest. Meanwhile, Lauvergne has been ruled out following his upgrade to questionable on the Spurs' injury report and will now miss his 11th consecutive game with a sprained right ankle. The absence of Green had enabled Bryn Forbes to start at the shooting guard spot alongside Patty Mills but he will in all likelihood return to the bench with Green officially available to play. Dejounte Murray finally broke out of his slump sans Green in just over 24 minutes of action off the bench but should probably be avoided until he begins receiving more consistent playing time when Green is healthy and in the Spurs active rotation.
Danny Green (hamstring) and Joffrey Lauvergne (ankle) questionable for Tuesday
Green and Lauvergne have both been listed as questionable on the San Antonio Spurs' injury report for tomorrow's game against the Dallas Mavericks with right hamstring tightness and a sprained right ankle, respectively. Green is in danger of missing his second straight game, while Lauvergne aims to return from a 10-game absence due to the aforementioned ankle injury. The absence of Green enabled Bryn Forbes to draw the start at the shooting guard spot alongside Patty Mills and he will likely do so once again if Green is unable to suit up once again, while Dejounte Murray finally broke out of his slump sans Green in just over 24 minutes of action off the bench. As for Lauvergne, he had been serving as the primary backup center behind Pau Gasol and averaging roughly 15 minutes per game prior to his injury and should resume that role right away if he is able to make his return on Tuesday night.
Kawhi Leonard (quad) and Joffrey Lauvergne (ankle) will remain out Sunday
Leonard has officially been ruled out for tomorrow's game against the Indiana Pacers with right quadriceps tendinopathy that has now forced him to miss five consecutive games to begin the season and is still without a timetable for return. Additionally, Joffrey Lauvergne has been ruled out due to a sprained right ankle and will miss his third consecutive game. In Leonard's absence, Kyle Anderson is expected to continue on as the Spurs' starting small forward until Rudy Gay is ready to see starters' minutes, while LaMarcus Aldridge, Pau Gasol, and Dejounte Murray should be expected to shoulder the offensive load alongside Gay while Leonard and Tony Parker, who isn't expected back until the end of November, are sidelined with separate quad injuries.
Kawhi Leonard (quad) remains out for Wednesday; Joffrey Lauvergne (ankle) also ruled out
Leonard has officially been ruled out for tomorrow's game against the Miami Heat with right quadriceps tendinopathy that has now forced him to miss four consecutive games to begin the season and is still without a timetable for return. Additionally, Joffrey Lauvergne has been ruled out due to a sprained right ankle he sustained in Monday's win after seeing 16 minutes of action. In Leonard's absence, Kyle Anderson is expected to continue on as the Spurs' starting small forward until Rudy Gay is ready to see starters' minutes, while LaMarcus Aldridge, Pau Gasol, and Dejounte Murray should be expected to shoulder the offensive load alongside Gay while Leonard and Tony Parker are sidelined with separate quad injuries.
Cristiano Felicio (back) ruled out for tonight; Joffrey Lauvergne to start at center for the Bulls
Felicio will not play in tonight's game against the Detroit Pistons after previously being listed as questionable on the Bulls' injury report with a lower back contusion he sustained late in Tuesday's loss to the Toronto Raptors. With Robin Lopez serving his one-game suspension stemming from last night's brawl, Joffrey Lauvergne will receive the starting nod at center in his place. Chicago's lack of depth in the frontcourt will force Bobby Portis to absorb most of the backup center minutes, while Paul Zipser may even see some limited time at the four. Lauvergne will likely become a chalky option at center for the stone minimum across the industry, but his minutes could be far from secure if the Bulls decide to go small to try and force Drummond off the court. However, if the salary savings of Lauvergne enables you to make a significant upgrade at another position, he could be worth the added risk should he squeeze out value in 20 minutes or so of playing time.
Cameron Payne (illness) will not make his Bulls debut tonight; Anthony Morrow and Joffrey Lauvergne will be in uniform but not expected to play
Payne isn't going to make his debut tonight, but he'll likely find his way into the Bulls rotation as early as tomorrow. The guard spot is a logjam in Chicago, but Payne is expected to be given a chance to secure a meaningful role. It's still unclear what roles Morrow and Lauvergne will take on.
Bulls trade Taj Gibson and Doug McDermott to Thunder for Cameron Payne, Anthony Morrow and Joffrey Lauvergne
The Thunder have acquired a veteran power forward in Taj Gibson, a spot where they've been starting unproven rookie Domantas Sabonis, so that's an upgrade for the team in that regard. The rest of the deal saw Doug McDermott go to the Thunder in exchange for Cameron Payne, Anthony Morrow, and Joffrey Lauvergne. The Bulls obtain some quality young talent in Cameron Payne who should be given every opportunity to start at point guard while Anthony Morrow provides a defensive presence. Bobby Portis should receive a huge boost with Gibson out of the way in Chicago although Lauvergne could potentially see some run as well.
Steven Adams (concussion) ruled out for tonight's game vs LAC
Steven Adams will not play tonight against the Clippers after suffering a concussion last night. Enes Kanter will likely start in his place and is one of the top plays at the position if he stays out of foul trouble in his first start of the season. Joffrey Lauvergne will pick up the backup minutes and is a viable GPP play tonight.
