Jonathan Ward Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

ARI RB Jonathan Ward and WR Andy Isabella inactive Monday; RB James Conner, RB Chase Edmonds, and WR Rondale Moore all officially ACTIVE

Jonathan Ward and Andy Isabella will be inactive Monday against the Los Angeles Rams, while James Conner, Chase Edmonds, and Rondale Moore are all officially active. Ward and Isabella will not be needed as depth pieces with Conner, Edmonds, and Moore all available to play. Conner will likely return to his role splitting time with Chase Edmonds in the Arizona backfield. Edmonds should see the bulk of the passing down work with Conner handling most of the rushing and goal line opportunities. This split will limit the upside of each back and makes them more difficult to roster in DFS contests. Moore should slot back into his role as the number three or four receiver for the Cardinals and can be considered in DFS contests as a boom or bust candidate.

ARI RB James Conner, RB Jonathan Ward, and WR Rondale Moore all listed questionable for Monday

James Conner, Jonathan Ward, and Rondale Moore have all been listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Los Angeles Rams. All week HC Kliff Kingsbury stated that he believed these players would wind up being game-time decisions, so there listing as questionable on the injury report comes as no surprise. Conner would be expected to split time with Chase Edmonds if he is available, limiting both players upside. If Conner were to be ruled out, Chase Edmonds would see most of the running back snaps with Eno Benjamin and Jonathan Ward (if available) backing him up. Edmonds would be one of the top plays on the showdown slate as he has proven to be a capable lead back when Conner has missed time, even in a tougher matchup against the Rams defense. If available, Rondale Moore could slot back in as one of the top three receivers for the Cardinals, possibly sending Antoine Wesley down the depth chart. Moore’s potential return should also impact the target share of Christian Kirk, A.J. Green, and Zach Ertz lowering their expected production. We will likely not know anything more regarding the status of Conner and Moore until inactives are released Monday 90 minutes before kickoff.

ARI RB James Conner (ribs) and RB Jonathan Ward (knee) DNP Friday

James Conner (ribs) and Jonathan Ward (knee) both logged DNPs Friday ahead of the Cardinals first round matchup against the Los Angeles Rams on Monday. t’s not surprising that both Conner and Ward were held out after HC Kliff Kingsbury stated that he expects both backs to be game-time decisions on Monday. It will be important to monitor the practice status of Conner as the week progresses but we will likely not know anything certain until inactives are released Monday night.

ARI RB James Conner (ribs) and RB Jonathan Ward (knee) DNP Thursday; RB Chase Edmonds, WR Rondale Moore, and TE Demetrius Harris returned to practice

James Conner (ribs) and Jonathan Ward (knee) both logged DNP Thursday, while Chase Edmonds, Rondale Moore, and Demetrius Harris all returned to practice ahead of their Monday night matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. It's not surprising that both Conner and Ward were held out after HC Kliff Kingsbury stated that he expects both backs to be game-time decisions on Monday. Rondale Moore seems to be trending towards a return and could slot back in as one of the top three receivers for the Cardinals, possibly sending Antoine Wesley down the depth chart. Moore's return should also impact the target share of Christian Kirk, A.J. Green, and Zach Ertz lowering their expected production. Demetrius Harris should back up Zach Ertz and doesn't project to be DFS relevant at this time. It will be important to monitor the practice status of Conner as the week progresses but we will likely not know anything certain until inactives are released Monday night.

ARI RB James Conner and RB Jonathan Ward likely to be game-time decisions Monday per HC Kliff Kingsbury

James Conner and Jonathan Ward are likely to be game-time decisions for Monday's first round matchup against the Los Angeles Rams per HC Kliff Kingsbury. James Conner is dealing with both a heel injury as well as a rib injury and is obviously the bigger concern of the two players.

ARI RB Jonathan Ward listed out for Sunday; QB Colt McCoy listed questionable

Jonathan Ward has been listed out for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks while Colt McCoy has been listed questionable. Ward was expected to serve as the third running back behind James Conner and Eno Benjamin but this role will now likely be played by practice squad member Tavien Feaster. Conner is the back to roster for the Cardinals as he leads the NFL in touchdowns and draws a good matchup against a poor defense. McCoy's status could be irrelevant depending on if Kyler Murray (game-time decision) is able to play on Sunday. If both McCoy and Murray were to be ruled out Chris Streveler would draw the start. Streveler offers rushing upside as seen in the preseason but would be a significant step down from both Murray and McCoy.

ARI QB Kyler Murray, WR DeAndre Hopkins, WR Rondale Moore, and RB Jonathan Ward DNP Wednesday

Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins, Rondale Moore, and Jonathan Ward all logged DNPs Wednesday ahead of Arizona's game with the Carolina Panthers. Kyler Murray stated that he feels a lot better and expects to play this weekend. If Hopkins and/or Moore are out the rest of the receiving corps would see a tremendous boost in expected production with Christian Kirk being the biggest benefactor. Ward is not expected to play much of a role as the backfield is expected to be led by James Conner with Eno Benjamin available to back him up.

ARI QB Kyler Murray, WR DeAndre Hopkins, and RB Jonathan Ward not seen at practice Thursday

Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins, and Jonathan Ward all not seen at practice Thursday ahead of their Sunday divisional matchup with the San Francisco 49ers. Murray is still expected to be a game-time decision on Sunday even if he is unable to log any practices this week. The same is likely true for Hopkins as he has only missed two games his entire career despite dealing with a slew of injuries. Jonathan Ward is not DFS relevant and if he were to miss, any carries that he would have seen would be absorbed by either Chase Edmonds or James Conner.
