Jordan Bell Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Jordan Bell traded to the Grizzlies for Bruno Caboclo

Bell's tenure in Houston was short-lived as the Rockets have flipped the big man to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Bruno Caboclo, who has been sidelined for the Grizzlies last eight games with a sore left knee. Bell is likely to only be a depth piece for a deep Grizzlies frontcourt, but several Rockets beat writers are speculating that Caboclo could step into Houston's backup "center" role and siphon minutes away from Thabo Sefolosha and Isaiah Hartenstein once the trade is finalized in coming day or two.

Andrew Wiggins (personal) questionable Saturday; Jeff Teague (illness) and Jordan Bell (shoulder) probable

Wiggins has officially been listed on the Timberwolves injury report as questionable for Saturday's matchup against the Houston Rockets due to a personal matter that has already forced him to miss one game, while Teague and Bell are probable, and Shabazz Napier is listed with his now customary doubtful status. With Wiggins unavailable for Friday's loss, Jarret Culver ended up drawing the start alongside Teague in the backcourt, and he was serviceable for fantasy purposes in 30 minutes of action. There is not a plentiful sample size among the regular starters with Wiggins off the court, but in that limited time, both Teague and Karl-Anthony Towns have seen a +3.7% or greater increase in usage rate while averaging at least +0.31 more DraftKings and FanDuel points per minute over their season-long numbers.

Shabazz Napier (hamstring) and Jordan Bell (shoulder) out Wednesday

As expected, both Napier and Bell won't be available to play in Wednesday's matchup against the San Antonio Spurs due to their respective ailments. There’s yet to be any report to suggest that Jeff Teague will be subject to a minute restriction in his return to the lineup, so it's difficult to digest how the news of Jarrett Culver starting at point guard affects Teague this evening. Culver and Josh Okogie saw elevated playing time while Teague was sidelined, but they each were extremely sporadic from a fantasy perspective. The other player that should see a downtick in production with Teague available is Andrew Wiggins, as he’ll now be relied upon much less often to initiate the Timberwolves’ offense and is severely overpriced for that role change around the industry.

Usage Void For Minnesota

Karl-Anthony Towns has a 29.2% usage this season thus far, and with his suspension, this opens up a massive number of shots available for the rest of the Timberwolves. Teague & Covington have not been priced up enough on DK to account for this void, and Andrew Wiggins (25.7% usage even *with* Towns playing) is priced even cheaper on FD at $6600. There will also be 30-35 minutes of front court work available in the rotation that should be filled by Vonleh, Bell & Layman, so having at least one these cheaper value plays in a PF slot on both sites is likely optimal for all formats.

Jordan Bell will start at Center for the Warriors

Jordan Bell will start at Center for the Warriors tonight, pairing him up with Marc Gasol, but more importantly meaning DeMarcus Cousins is NOT starting, adding to the increasing murkiness of his viability as a DFS play for tonight's game. Kevon Looney will maintain his familiar bench role, although it's unclear how well and Cousins will fare when used on the floor at the same time.

Jordan Bell is expected to play

Jordan Bell getting the start makes him a more attractive option due to minutes certainty, and that he doesn't need to score a whole lot or have the ball in his hands in order to be effective. An energized Bell could make for a very good value play on this slate, and also leaves Kevon Looney in his comfortable and predictable bench role, where he too remains an interesting option for this depleted Warriors squad.

Shaun Livingston (hamstring) probable Monday; Jordan Bell (illness) ruled out

Livingston has been added to the Warriors' injury report and is probable for Monday's matchup against the Charlotte Hornets due to a tight left hamstring, while Bell has been downgraded from questionable and won't play in tonight's contest because of an illness, though he's been a DNP-CD in four of the previous six games. Draymond Green remains probable with a sprained left ankle that forced him to miss the end of Saturday's loss, so he'll presumably be a full-go and draw the start at his customary power forward position this evening. Green has taken on even less of a role in the Warriors offense since DeMarcus Cousins made his debut in mid-January, as he's recorded just 13.2% usage rate and seen his fantasy production dip to 1.01 DraftKings and 1.05 FanDuel points per minute over this span.

Jordan Bell will start in place of Draymond Green (rest) on Monday

Green was previously ruled out and won’t play in Monday’s matchup against the Indiana Pacers due to rest purposes, while Jonas Jerebko is still away from the team tending to a personal matter. When Green was sidelined for a stretch of games earlier in the season, head coach Steve Kerr cycled through a number of players to replace him in the starting lineup, and he's opted to give Jordan Bell a shot as a spot starter despite him totaling just 11 minutes and accruing three DNP-CDs in the Warriors last five games. However, DeMarcus Cousins has been roughly limited to about 24 minutes over the last two games, so regardless of starting lineup, Kevon Looney should be in line for a significant bump in minutes. Since Green is more of a distributor than a scorer on offense, his absence doesn’t really open up any additional usage for the likes of Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, or Klay Thompson, and Cousins has only recorded 7.6 minutes in his first four games with Green and Jerebko off the court.

Pivot Off The Chalk

Jordan Bell has been a disappointment this season when given run but remains a guy that I can't quit because of his strong per minute fantasy production. Via CourtIQ Bell has averaged right around one fantasy point per minute over the last two seasons. With Damian Jones joining Draymond on the sidelines for Monday's contest I'm interested in Bell as a pivot off the chalkier Kevon Looney in GPPs. Looney remains the "safer" option for cash games but if Bell is able to get on the right side of the timeshare and crack 25+ minutes of court time he could explode for 40+ fantasy points.

Jonas Jerebko will start ahead of Jordan Bell on Saturday

The Warriors are without Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Shaun Livingston for Saturday's matchup against the Brooklyn Nets due to their respective injuries. In their absences, Quinn Cook and Jonas Jerebko will enter the starting lineup, which will send Jordan Bel back to the bench to resume a reserve role following a serviceable fantasy performance in 21 minutes in his spot start. There isn't much of a sample size with both Curry and Green off the court together this season, but in that limited time, both Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant own usage rates north of 41.0% and see a substantial boost in their per minute production. While those rates aren't sustainable, they will obviously be elite options for all formats on tonight's slate.
