Don't Let The Matchup Scare You Away From This Line

Two seasons removed from becoming the the first American born player to earn the Hart Trophy as the league's MVP, Patrick Kane continues to be a force offensively for an inconsistent Blackhawks team. Aside from his unparalleled playmaking abilities, a major component of Kane's strong start to this season is the fact that he leads all Chicago forwards in ice time despite not factoring into the team's penalty kill. Tonight "Kaner" will have a great opportunity to keep his fantastic overall season going against a banged up Tampa Bay team that will be without their top defenseman in Hedman and their best defensive forward in Palat. Skating alongside playmakers Nick Schmaltz and Patrick Sharp on Chicago's second line and top power play unit, look for this trio to breakout on the man advantage against a Lightning penalty kill that ranks 21st in the NHL this year and has allowed four power play goals in as many games.

Baby Blackhawk blue liner has seven points in last six games

Jordan Oesterle has come alive over his past six games as the young blue liner has buried three goals and four assists while averaging three shots on goal per contest. Still affordable across the industry, Oesterle is an excellent source to save salary tonight as his confidence continues to grow. Minnesota is not the most ideal matchup, but they have been mediocre at best on the road, and Oesterle is riding hot. Last night, he logged the third-most power play time behind Patrick Kane and Nick Schmaltz. While the youngster's production is unsustainable, there is no reason to hop off yet, especially on a two game slate.

This defenseman has been a cheap source for fantasy points

In just 14 games, Jordan Oesterle has put up seven points, 32 shots (2.29 per game), and 23 blocks (1.64 per game). He is not getting that much power play time as he averages just 58 seconds per game with the man advantage, however he sits second on the team behind only Duncan Keith in even strength ice time at 18:16 per game. Chicago is hosting the Golden Knights tonight and while Vegas has been fantastic this year, but Oesterle is so cheap across the industry and has been productive enough that he doesn't need to do much to pay off his salary. Lining up alongside Keith at even strength will give him the best offensive opportunity at 5-on-5.
