Jordan Thomas and J.J. Taylor are inactive Sunday. Dalton Keene will work as the second TE for the Patriots.
N'Keal Harry, Damien Harris and Ryan Izzo active; J.J. Taylor and Jordan Thomas inactive
The Patriots will have N'Keal Harry, Damien Harris and Ryan Izzo active Sunday night, with J.J. Taylor and Jordan Thomas inactive. Taylor does not have a role in the offense with Damien Harris, Rex Burkhead and James White all ahead of him. Given that Sony Michel will eventually be active again, Taylor might struggle to see any work for the rest of the season. Jordan Thomas being inactive means that the Patriots have just one active TE, Ryan Izzo. That obviously sounds appealing, but the Patriots won't suddenly pepper Izzo with targets just because he is the only active TE. N'Keal Harry returns after missing two games, and should return to his normal role along WRs Damiere Byrd and Jakobi Meyers. With Harry out, Meyers got over 40% of the targets each of the past two weeks, and number that should come back down with Harry healthy.
Kenny Stills (Knee), Jordan Thomas (Illness) Practice Fully Thursday, Cleared to Play Saturday
Stills and Thomas both practiced fully Thursday, clearing the way for them to play Saturday. Neither has any type of injury designation on the final injury report.
Jordan Thomas (Illness) Does Not Practice Wednesday
Thomas was a new addition to the injury report Wednesday, not practicing with an illness. He is unlikely to have a significant role in the offense if healthy.
Texans Activate TE Jordan Thomas off Reserve/Injured List
Thomas was activated Thursday off the Reserve/Injured List, giving the Texans a third TE going forward. Last season he had 20 catches on 27 targets, 215 yards and 4 TDs in 16 games for the Texans, so he does have some skill in the passing game.
