Josh Adams Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

NYJ WR Keelan Cole, RB La'Mical Perine, RB Josh Adams inactive

Keelan Cole was considered a game-time decision coming into this game and will be unable to suit up for the Jets Sunday when they take on the Carolina Panthers. This makes Corey Davis and Elijah Moore even better plays as Cole joins Jamison Crowder as unavailable. Moore is an elite play and should be considered in all formats. Perine and Adams were not expected to see much if any run today as most of the rushing should be handled by Tevin Coleman, Michael Carter, and Ty Johnson.

Josh Adams Promoted to Active Roster

The Jets have promoted RB Josh Adams to their active roster for Sunday. He should see a small role in the offense while also taking some snaps on special teams. The low number of expected touches limits his upside, although he did manage to rush for a TD on one of his two attempts Week 1, while also catching both his targets.

Ryan Griffin (Ankle), Bilal Powell (Ankle/Illness) Ruled Out for Thursday

Griffin and Powell have been ruled out Thursday for the Jets. At TE, Trevon Wesco and Daniel Brown should share the workload, while Ty Montgomery will handle the backup RB duties if healthy. With Montgomery questionable, Josh Adams could get some work.

Le'Veon Bell (Ribs/Knee/Illness), Josh Adams (Illness) Do Not Practice Wednesday

Both Bell and Adams did not practice Wednesday. Bell is dealing with a trio of issues, but he is still considered likely to play this week.

Jets Sign Josh Adams to Active Roster

The Jets have signed Josh Adams to their active roster. The move was reportedly made to block another team from signing Adams off of the Jets' practice squad, not due to any injury issues at RB.

Josh Adams (shoulder) logs a full practice Thursday

Adams was a full participant in Thursday's practice after previously being listed as limited on Wednesday afternoon. Adams has been the clear lead running back in the Eagles backfield over the last few weeks, but the return of Darren Sproles from a hamstring injury and Corey Clement mixing in on limited snaps has hampered his involvement in the passing game. The matchup with the Cowboys defense is far from ideal, and the Eagles are currently projected for fewer than 20 implied points with Dallas receiving a ton of respect from Vegas following their dominant defensive performance against the New Orleans Saints in Week 13.

Darren Sproles, previously listed as questionable, will be active for the Eagles tonight

I never thought I'd see the day. Sproles is finally active after missing basically the entire regular season to date, and his return is welcomed as the Eagles look for a regular contributor out of the backfield in the passing game. Sproles' presence does eat into the potential receiving workload for Josh Adams, but Sproles doesn't figure to eat heavily into any sort of goal-line work, but he'll be an option on passing downs in the red-zone. It's unlikely that he ends up seeing more than 30-35% of the snaps at best in his return, but he is on the radar for Showdown slates.

Josh Adams (hip) went through warm-ups without issue and will play tonight

Josh Adams (hip) went through warm-ups without issue and will play tonight against the Redskins. He's been trending towards playing, so this isn't a shock. After a successful stint as the lead back against New York, Adams should fall right back into lead duties again here against Washington. This draw is a little tougher, as the Redskins are easier to move the ball against via the air, so Adams is going to need to find his way into the painted-grass to have hope at returning value this evening. This game is big to the Eagles post-season chances.

Josh Adams (hip) and Darren Sproles (hamstring) questionable for Monday night

Adams is a late addition to the Eagles' injury report and is questionable for Monday night's matchup against the Washington Redskins after being a limited participant in Saturday's practice due to a hip injury, while Darren Sproles is also questionable with a hamstring issue, but both running backs are ultimately expected to play barring a setback. Head coach Doug Peterson already confirmed that Sproles will have a limited role in his first game back, and if Adams is limited in any way, this Eagles backfield will likely be a full-blown committee with Corey Clement and Wendell Smallwood also mixing in for snaps and touches.

Eagles will feature Josh Adams as starter Sunday

The Eagles will reportedly feature Josh Adams as the starter Sunday, implying he is in line for the bulk of the work out of the Eagles backfield. Adams handled 55% of the snaps during Week 11, where he started to emerge from the running back committee as the go-to rusher for this struggling offense. He also saw six passing targets in the matchup, which shows the team trusts Adams as a receiving back as well. Still very cheap across the industry, Adams sets up as a great punt option on the Week 12 slate.
