Keshawn Martin Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Danny Amendola active Week 17
As expected, Danny Amendola (knee) is active for today's game in Miami. The Miami Dolphins come in ranked #27 against WR's in DvP rankings, though there is some concern that Amendola may not play a full compliment of snaps in Week 17. Those hoping for Amendola to be out in order to roster Keshawn Martin will be disappointed, but Martin could still see plenty of looks today with Amendola possibly not returning in full or needing to play the entire game.
James White, Keshawn Martin, Brandon LaFell good, cheap exposure to Patriots offense
At this point in the season there are so many injuries that hurt teams, but DFS players can find value in their backups. The Patriots are a great example of how a team can be depleted by injuries, but still maintain a very high-powered offense even with some of their main weapons missing. James White is taking over for Dion Lewis and LeGarrette Blount who are both out with injuries and is fairly cheap across the board at RB. Brandon Bolden will likely handle most of the rushes, but White comes out of the backfield as a receiver and is a huge weapon for the Patriots with limited options. The Jets have a great run defense, and it may be deceiving if you are looking ad DvP and consider taking White, but he rarely runs the ball and mainly gets all his touches on pass plays. The Patriots will likely go with a pass-heavy game plan this week leading to plenty of opportunities for White along with Keshawn Martin and Brandon LaFell who are both cheap as well. In Week 7 vs. the Jets, Brady dropped back 60 times, passed 54 times and the Patriots totaled six total rushes with their RBs. SIX TOTAL RUSHES! With Danny Amendola and Julian Edelman both ruled out, LaFell and Martin will probably be on the field for the majority of the game and will likely get a lot of targets to go along with it. As always, Gronk is an elite option at TE, but White, Martin, and LaFell are great ways to get cheap exposure to the extremely pass-heavy Patriots this week.
Julian Edelman ruled out for Week 15
Julian Edelman (foot) was never expected to play this week, even though he got in some limited practice time this week. The Patriots will hope to have Edelman back Week 16. Edelman will miss a nice match up against the Titans who come in ranked 24th against WR's, 25th against QB's and 28th against TE's in DvP. With Edelman out, look for Danny Amendola to handle most of the short passing game work while Keshawn Martin pitches in as well. In the last 4 games, Amendola has targets of 11, 12, 13 and 8, while Martin has had 8 and 4 targets in his past 2 games for the Patriots. Brady will also look to get Rob Gronkowski involved after he looked good in his return last week from his knee injury where he caught all 4 of his targets for 87 yards and a touchdown.
Keshawn Martin active for SNF
Keshawn Martin is active tonight as expected. He'll take on a very strong Broncos secondary, but with Tom Brady down to Rob Gronkowski and Brandon LaFell as his main targets, Martin should see a fair amount of work and is likely ahead of Chris Harper in the pecking order. Martin is a viable late-swap option on DraftKings at minimum price. If he continues to line up frequently on the right side, he'll see plenty of Aqib Talib, but the matchup won't be good regardless of where he's playing.
Keshawn Martin inactive; Amendola, LaFell and Dobson all active
Keshawn Martin will not play tonight against the Bills. Danny Amendola, Brandon LaFell and Aaron Dobson will see almost all of the snaps at WR, with Amendola having the highest floor and ceiling of the group due to his matchup with Nickell Robey, who is the weak spot in the Buffalo secondary. The Pats also attacked the Bills hard in the slot earlier in the year (with success), so they may very well go that route again. LaFell and Dobson will have the tougher matchups with Buffalo's outside CBs, both of whom have graded out very well in coverage.
Keshawn Martin expected to be inactive
Martin was seen heading to the parking lot during warmups, which seems to indicate that he won't play tonight. That leaves Danny Amendola, Aaron Dobson (his status is also in some doubt) and Chris Harper as the candidates at WR, with Amendola expected to see the most work of the group. Rob Gronkowski should be a big part of the passing game tonight and can be trusted in any format, as can Amendola who is simply too cheap for the workload he's expected to see.
Keshawn Martin could be a sneaky late-swap option
The Patriots have announced that Keshawn Martin is questionable for Monday's game vs. the Bills. If Martin does suit up, he will likely see a large increase in his recent snap count considering that Julian Edelman is out for at least the next several weeks. Edelman leaves a large void to be filled in the Patriots high-powered offense that will likely be filled by a few different players. Danny Amendola, Aaron Dobson (who was added to the injury report today), and Chris Harper will all likely see an increase in snaps along with Martin. Don't be surprised to see Martin get time in 2-WR sets. Slot receivers have been a weakness for the Bills this season and New England attacked them hard with Julian Edelman in the team's first meeting, but the outside WRs here still have appeal given how effective the Patriots passing game is. If you are behind and need to make a big splash on MNF, swapping out Amendola for Martin could give you the upside you need to climb the latter.
Keshawn Martin questionable for Sunday
The Patriots have announced that Keshawn Martin is questionable for Monday's game vs. the Bills. Edelman leaves a large void to be filled in the Patriots high-powered offense that will likely be filled by a few different players. Danny Amendola, Aaron Dobson, and Chris Harper will all likely see an increase in snaps along with Martin. This is tricky because we likely won't know much more on his status until Monday night. It would be a risky play on sites without a late swap such as FanDuel, but could make for a nice pivot option on late-swap sites such as DraftKings.
Keshawn Martin's role could increase
With his hamstring injury almost fully recovered it could be Keshawn Martin who benefits most from Julian Edelman's injury. QB Tom Brady mentioned him first in a recent interview and before his injury (when Lafell was still out) Martin played in the majority of the teams two WR sets. He'll be an intriguing value play in the high-powered Patriots offense so keep an eye out on his status for this weeks game.
