Kevin Hayes Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
This line has been on fire for the New York Rangers.
Whether you consider them to be the top line or not, Chris Kreider, Kevin Hayes and Filip Chytil have been incredible for the New York Rangers. Kreider has picked up 6 goals and 11 points over the last 10 games, while Hayes has also picked up 11 points and Chytil has scored 5 goals. Tonight they have a home game against an Ottawa Senators team that is allowing 4.35 goals per game — the worst mark in the NHL.
Center in the Midst of Multi-Game Point Streak
Kevin Hayes has been a steady offensive producer throughout his career, but he has taken his game to another level lately thanks to an increased role. He has six assists in his last three games and has played 20+ minutes in all of those contests. He has also amassed 12 shots on goal during that stretch, giving him a nice floor. Injuries to Pavel Buchnevich and Mats Zuccarello should mean Hayes will continue to see Top 6 minutes and time on the powerplay.
Slow start for Rangers' center offers buy low opportunity
With several of the National Hockey League's explosive top lines in play tonight, finding a cheap line to stack with them is necessary. One way to go is with the New York Rangers' second line center Kevin Hayes who skates with veteran Mats Zuccarello and rookie Filip Chytil. Hayes and the Rangers take on a Florida team which has allowed the fourth-most goals per game (3.83) in the National Hockey League. The injury to veteran Roberto Luongo, combined with the underwhelming play of James Reimer has been a big problem for Florida in the early going. Michael Hutchinson is not a solution. Hayes has hit 40-plus points in three of his first four seasons and should be able to hit that mark again this season. Tonight is a good night for him to get going.
**Edit @ 2:30 - it looks like the Rangers will go with a top line of Kreider, Zibanejad, Zuccarello. Hayes is no longer of the same interest as his anticipated linemate Jesper Fast doesn't see any power play time and Filip Chytil's ice time is limited. Hayes is still fine as a solo shot to save salary at center**
Low-owned Ranger worth a shot in tournaments
Yes, the Rangers are pathetic, but Kevin Hayes quietly has collected eight points (4 goals, 4 assists) in 12 games after the All-Star Break. While Hayes is aggressively priced on FanDuel ($5,900), he comes at a nice bargain on both DraftKings ($4,000) and FantasyDraft ($7,600). There are not many ways to sugar coat the Rangers, but Detroit played last night while the Rangers got a much needed day off after getting waxed by Montreal and Minnesota. The Rangers will need someone to score with Rick Nash gone, and Kevin Hayes seems like an ideal candidate, especially when his price is so depressed on DraftKings and FantasyDraft.
