Knile Davis Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Spencer Ware INACTIVE Sunday
The Chiefs will roll with Charcandrick West and Knile Davis in the backfield. West should lead the backfield but he's been pretty ineffective this season, averaging 3.3 yards per carry. In the three games he's received more than six carries, he's rushed for 3.1 ypc. Although he'll have a favorable game flow (Kansas City is favored by 5 points) against a mediocre rush defense (Chargers are 14th in rush DVOA), it'll be hard to trust him to post big fantasy numbers. However, given his price, he is a potential value option on the afternoon slate. He projects as our RB2 on FanDuel and RB3 on DraftKings in terms of points-per-dollar.
Knile Davis active for Chiefs, Bishop Sankey inactive
Davis will be Charcandrick West's lone back up today. He's not expected to get many touches though. West will be the Chiefs' workhorse against Jacksonville, who rank 27th in rush DVOA, according to Football Outsiders.
Chiefs sign Knile Davis
It's been a crazy couple of weeks for the running back; he was traded by the Chiefs to Green Bay, cut by Green Bay two weeks later, signed by the Jets, released by the Jets within 24 hours, and now he's back with the Chiefs. He probably won't get too many snaps at running back this weekend, if any at all. Unfortunately for Davis, he could be released as soon as Spencer Ware is cleared from the concussion protocol.
Jets expected to sign C.J. Spiller, release Knile Davis
Poor Knile Davis, he wasn't even with the Jets for a full day before they released him. Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Jets are finalizing a deal with C.J. Spiller, so they won't have room on the roster for Davis. New York will probably use Spiller in some passing down situations, but both Matt Forte and Bilal Powell are capable receivers. He won't have fantasy value until proven otherwise.
Jets claim Knile Davis
Davis was waived by Green Bay earlier this week after playing just two games with the team. Some speculated he could end up back with the Chiefs with Spencer Ware in concussion protocol, but Kansas City opted to sign Bishop Sankey instead. Davis will be third string behind Matt Forte and Bilal Powell, so he won't have much fantasy value.
Knile Davis released by Packers
Even though the Packers have a serious lack of depth at running back they felt it best to part ways with Davis. Since joining Green Bay, he's accumulated nine total yards on seven touches. His release could mean James Starks is almost ready to play again.
Knile Davis works with scout team at Packers' practice
Davis was just traded to the Packers, so it makes sense that he got eased in at practice today. With Eddie Lacy reportedly out for Thursday's game with Chicago, there's a chance Davis could get some snaps at running back. Having only two days to prepare with a new team is an incredibly small amout of time. However, the Packers find themselves in a desperate situation. With their only two running backs out they're expected to play a receiver, Ty Montgomery, a lot at running back. We'll get some more information on the situation tomorrow.
Eddie Lacy will not practice; status for Thursday uncertain
Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy stated today that his starting RB is very sore and would not practice. With the Packers on a short week, his availability is certainly in doubt. The Packers traded for Chiefs RB Knile Davis this morning and he'll get thrown into the mix right away with James Starks already out. Davis probably isn't a viable DFS option this week unless we receive clarity from the Packers on his usage. We'll keep you updated on Lacy heading into Thursday Night Football.
Knile Davis inactive for Week 10
What a fall from grace Davis has had as Charles' top backup. With Charcandrick West rolling with the starting gig, Davis was limited to change of pace reps and will apparently give way to Spencer Ware as the #2 RB behind West. None of the Chiefs RBs are particularly strong DFS plays given the extremely tough matchup with Denver's defense, and West's workload isn't expected to change with Davis inactive.
