Kramer Hickok Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Danny Willett is no longer in the field
Danny Willett has withdrawn from this weeks Players Championship due to Covid policies. He will be replaced by Kramer Hickok.
Field update for The RSM Classic
Henrik Norlander and Kramer Hickok have both tested positive for COVID and will miss this week's RSM Classic. They will be replaced in the field by Ryan Brehm and Rhein Gibson. I would not either player to get added to the full week pricing pool, but we should see them available for round 2 showdown slates. Sam Burns and Bill Haas are the other two names to remove themselves from the field this week.
Rolling With Some Solid Form
I wrote him up as my top value play last week and he produced a solid 29th place finish, which was his second consecutive top 30 outing. His statistical rankings in the early going aren’t super great, but it’s worth noting that we are still dealing with a very small sample size, and much of his rankings are attributable to the two missed cuts that he had out of the gate. His ball striking and approach play profile better than what his statistical rankings currently show, and he should head into this event with more confidence after two strong starts. He’s a Texas native who should also feel comfortable at this venue, and I like him as a value once again this week.
Risk/Reward GPP Value
Hickok doesn’t come in with the same glamour profile or headlines of new PGA Tour members like Im, Albertson, and Cameron Champ, but he appears very capable of competing at this level. Our RotoGrinders projection model REALLY likes him this week, and he finally broke through with a 23rd place finish in Las Vegas last weekend. His ball striking numbers look very solid, and this profiles as the type of course where he should be able to compete. I won’t touch him in cash games, but he’s an intriguing flier that will be about 3-4% owned in GPP formats.
Kramer Hickok set to make his PGA member debut
Web.com Tour graduates making their PGA Tour debut will be a hot topic of discussion over the next few weeks. Kramer Hickok enters this week looking to continue the solid play that allowed him to finish second on the season-long Web.com money list. In 26 starts last season Hickok posted 10 top 25 or better finishes including a win at The DAP Championship last month. While Hickok lacks the consistency of a Sunjae Im, his upside is worth looking at in terms of GPP's early in the season. Currently projected to have a sub 2% ownership Hickok makes for an interesting tournament flyer this week. Missed cuts have been a problem for Hickok as he has missed 4 out of his last 10 on the Web.com Tour. The thing we are really looking at in rostering a guy like Hickok is that when he makes a cut he usually plays well. Hickok's last six made cuts have resulted in the following finish positions ( 8,3,36,1,14, 8). While the cut risk is definitely a real concern, Hickok has the upside need to make for a great tournament pick for the first event of the PGA Tour season.
