Kyle Connor Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
This line should dominate from puck drop
Ottawa has been one of the worst defensive teams all season long. They own a league worst GA/60 at 3.18, and CA/60 of 66.66. Mark Scheifele, Blake Wheeler, and Kyle Connor all play together on the team’s top power-play unit and should have no problem finding the back of the net tonight against this porous Ottawa team. Dustin Byfuglien is an elite play in all formats and correlates on the top power-play unit with all three forwards.
*Update as Byfuglien is out Trouba is the play at Defense
Multi-goal potential for this line stack
Mark Scheifele and the Winnipeg Jets will host the Anaheim Ducks whom are giving up the second most high danger scoring chances in the league (12.87 HDCA/60). Scheifele and line-mates Blake Wheeler, and Kyle Connor all correlate on the team’s top power-play unit along with defenseman Jacob Trouba. This talented line stack has multi-goal upside against defensively challenged Anaheim team tonight.
Winnipeg's Top Line Gets Their Work In
The injury to Nikolaj Ehlers has done wonders for Kyle Connor as he has grabbed nine goals and four assists over the last 12 games. Not that he wasn’t a good player before moving up to the top line with Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler as he now has 22 goals to go along with 19 assists in the 51 games he has suited up for. A lot of folks are wondering what is wrong with Patrik Laine and the answer could very simply be that Connor was the straw that stirred the drink on the team’s second line. The Jets are an impressive 19-6-2 on home ice which makes Connor a very lucrative play on home ice this evening.
Get this Winnipeg guy into your cash games
Kyle Connor's price on FanDuel ($4,600) is amusing given his move back to the top line with Nikolaj Ehlers on the shelf for a while. Even on DraftKings where Connor is $5,100, he checks in as a strong value. Connor has eight shots on goal over his last two games and ended a long scoring drought with a goal in Sunday's 5-1 demolition of Dallas. Lock him into your cash games and fire up Winnipeg's top line in tournaments in a game that should be played at a nice pace.
This teams second line has a premium matchup tonight.
Despite having just 31 points, Patrik Laine has an impressive 24 goals which is fourth in the NHL. His lack of assists is a bit troubling as goals can be very streaky, but when he's on he puts them in the net in bunches. This second line has been solid this season, with Kyle Connor being a surprise as the second-highest shot producer on the team behind Laine. With Little down the middle, he's not the best option but the three work well together. Laine and Connor play on the top power play unit together so they make for an obvious two-man mini-stack if you want to leave Little off the full line stack.
The hottest goal-scorer in the NHL has a fantastic matchup.
Patrik Laine is easily the hottest goal-scorer in the NHL right now. He has 13 goals in his last 10 games and while that number is a bit inflated due to a 5-goal game, he still has 8 in the other 9 games (albeit goalless in three straight). He's a streaky player as he started the season off slow at even strength. He leads the Winnipeg Jets in shots with 105 (3.89 per game) and is playing on a line with Kyle Connor who is second on the team in shots with 79 (2.93 per game), and Brian Little who doesn't really shoot much or get that many points but is just along for the ride. Laine and Connor play on the top power play unit together which makes the two-man mini-stack a viable play as well.
Hottest Center in NHL in Favorable Matchup
Mark Scheifele never seems to get the credit he deserves compared to other elite centers. Look at tonight's slate for example. He could see lower ownership than Crosby, MacKinnon, Matthews, or Tavares, but he is second only to MacKinnon on that list. He is on fire lately with five goals in his last four games, including a three assist game in the only one he didn't score in. You can pair him with his even strength linemates Nikolaj Ehler and Blake Wheeler, or go slightly more contrarian by including power play linemates Patrik Laine or Kyle Connor.
This winger has been playing alongside Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler on the Jets top line.
Kyle Connor has been playing on the top line for the Winnipeg Jets with Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler and so far it has worked out very well for him. Connor has four goals, five points and 21 shots six games while also playing on the top power play unit. Tonight the Jets are taking on the Vancouver Canucks and are -220 favourites in a game with a 6.0 over/under and although Canucks goaltender Anders Nilsson has been dominant this season in his three games with a 1.67 goals against average and .943 save percentage, this small sample size will surely catch up to Nilsson soon.
Rookie Winnipeg winger has five goals in his last four games
Lost in the offensive outburst of Patrik Laine this season, Kyle Connor has quietly collected 46 points (27 goals, 19 assists) in 67 games. While the matchup with the Ducks is not the most exploitable, Winnipeg has been dominant on home ice. Furthermore, Connor has five goals in his last four games as he has bounced back after going pointless in his first six games through March. The issue with Connor tonight is there are a handful of salary relief options at wing. The Ducks have allowed just four goals in their last four games as they have strung together four straight wins. Nonetheless, given Kyle's surge over the past week and his price point, he makes for a nice play in tournaments and secondary option in cash games.
There is a new left winger on the Jets top line
Kyle Connor is joining Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler on the top line for the Winnipeg Jets. He makes this line a bit more affordable than when Patrik Laine was there, which is always encouraging. The Jets are home to the Colorado Avalanche who are still without Nathan Mackinnon which will hurt. With the injuries to the Avalanche, their depth is depleted, which is the exact opposite issue of the Jets who are among the deepest up front. Over the last 10 games, the Avalanche have a 61.92 CA/60, which is the eighth worst in the NHL. While the depth lines of the Jets may be the ones to target as they face the poor depth lines of the Avalanche, Connor is in a great spot regardless. He has picked up three goals and seven points over the last 10 games as well as averaging 2.5 shots per game. This entire line sticks together on the top power play unit, which gives them elite upside for tournaments as they are always on the ice together.
