Leandro Barbosa will not play Wednesday
Barbosa will miss his sixth straight game due to nerve irritation, and it's looking more and more like the Suns may be best off shutting him down for the season. Phoenix is likely to continue handing out heavy minutes to guys like Tyler Ulis, Devin Booker, T.J. Warren, so Barbosa's absence only makes their path to playing time even clearer.
T.J. Warren (illness) and Leandro Barbosa (hamstring) ruled out tonight
Warren will not play in tonight's game against the Houston Rockets due to an illness despite never appearing on the Suns' injury report at any point throughout the weekend. Additionally, Leandro Barbosa will remain sidelined for the fifth consecutive game with a left hamstring issue. In Warren's absence, Derrick Jones Jr. will almost assuredly draw the start at small forward. There isn't a huge sample size for the remaining Phoenix starters with Warren off the court post-All-Star break, but Devin Booker (39.0%) and Marquese Chriss (28.6%) look to be the clear beneficiaries of his absence, as they each own at least a +8.2% usage rate differential. Chriss is clearly an elite option on the late slate, but Booker becomes a must play in every format in what should be a closely contested game with the Rockets down three starters in James Harden, Trevor Ariza, and Ryan Anderson.
Devin Booker (ankle) will start tonight; Leandro Barbosa (hamstring) ruled out
Booker will play and start in tonight's game against the Los Angeles Clippers after previously being considered a game-time decision with a sore right ankle that had forced him to miss one game. The return of Booker to the starting lineup will send Derrick Jones Jr. back to the bench to resume his reserve role. Additionally, Leandro Barbosa has officially been ruled out with a right hamstring injury that has now forced him to miss three consecutive games. Booker should be expected to be a full-go and see his normal allotment of minutes in tonight's contest, as there were rumors prior to Tuesday's matchup with the Atlanta Hawks that he was just being rested by the Phoenix coaching staff and the ankle soreness was not considered to be serious. Booker will likely carry significantly reduced ownership on the late slate given the uncertainty surrounding his "injury", making him an appealing tournament target at a typically shallow shooting guard position.
Leandro Barbosa (hamstring) ruled out today
Barbosa was a late scratch and will not play in today's game against the Charlotte Hornets due to a left hamstring issue despite never appearing on the Suns' injury report at any point throughout the weekend. Additionally, Ronnie Price will remain out for his fourth consecutive game with a left leg contusion, paving the way for Tyler Ulis and Devin Booker to continue seeing massive minute workloads. This leaves the Suns with just Ulis, Booker, and Jarell Eddie available to soak up 96 minutes of playing time in the backcourt, which means Ulis and Booker are absolute locks to see more than 40 minutes of playing time in Sunday's contest. They both are obviously viable in every daily fantasy format.
Devin Booker (ankle) questionable today; Ronnie Price (leg) doubtful; Leandro Barbosa (illness) remains out
Booker has officially been downgraded to questionable for today's game against the Detroit Pistons due to an ankle injury, while Ronnie Price is officially doubtful with a leg contusion and Leandro Barbosa will miss his second consecutive game due to an illness. The Suns have already shut down Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight for the season, so if both Booker and Price are unable to suit up, Phoenix will be extremely thin in the backcourt for tonight's contest. Tyler Ulis has played at least 39 minutes in each of the Suns last two games, so he is essentially a must play in all formats regardless of Booker and Price's availability. He also draws a great individual matchup with Reggie Jackson and the Pistons' backcourt defense.
Leandro Barbosa (illness) officially ruled out tonight
Barbosa will not play in tonight's game against the Orlando Magic after previously being listed as doubtful on the Suns' injury report due to an illness that has now forced him to miss two consecutive games. Additionally, Derrick Jones Jr. will be available to play after being listed as questionable with a lower back contusion. The Suns will stick with the same starting lineup as their prior game, meaning Jones Jr. will come off the bench in a reserve role. Phoenix has already shut down Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Knight, and essentially Tyson Chandler for the remainder of the season so they will be down to just eight active players with Barbosa officially unavailable. Phoenix will be particularly shorthanded in the backcourt, which will likely allow Ronnie Price to enter the rotation to soak up some reserve guard minutes at both point and shooting guard. Tyler Ulis, T.J. Warren, Devin Booker, and Alan Williams are all viable options on Friday's slate and will be relied upon to carry the offensive load going forward, especially tonight, sans Bledsoe.
Steph Curry (knee) doubtful for Monday
The Warriors are listing Curry as doubtful for Monday and Shaun Livingston will start in his place again if he does not play. Livingston only returned 4.5x on FanDuel but also only played 25 minutes on Saturday. While he was not a complete bust this will likely keep his salary at $4,800 for Monday, leaving him as a viable cash game play. Barbosa played 18 minutes on Saturday but this was the first time in all of the playoffs he played over 16 minutes in a game. Barbosa is a risky option coming off the bench but deserves tournament consideration because he will be low-owned. Draymond Green was the only Warriors' player to exceed value in Game 3 and will remain an elite option for Game 4.
Leandro Barbosa only Warrior not available to play Sunday
The Warriors will be at full strength tonight about the Spurs, but for Leandro Barbosa. Andrew Bogut will play after resting last night. This isn’t a great matchup for Bogut with Tim Duncan out. Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are elite plays in all formats tonight. Curry just had 48 FD points against the Spurs on Thursday. You could also use Klay Thompson or Harrison Barnes in a GPP tonight.
Shaun Livingston (rest) ruled out on Sunday
Shaun Livingston will rest on Sunday against the 76ers. The Warriors will also be without Iguodala, Ezeli, and Looney. Leandro Barbosa will take the backup PG minutes against Philadelphia. Barbosa is a viable tournament option on a short slate. Barbosa should be expected to play about 15-20 minutes.
Leandro Barbosa will be active tonight
Barbosa will be active tonight and has a chance to play. Barbosa is a risky GPP play but the late info will make him extremely under-owned on DK. If Barbosa is able to get some extra minutes in a blowout, he has the chance to be a differentiating factor on such a small slate.
