Malcom Floyd Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Stevie Johnson still not practicing

It's looking more like Stevie Johnson won't suit up against the Dolphins. The Chargers receiving corps have been decimated by injury this season, and Malcom Floyd will likely act as the #1 WR against Miami. It's a nice match-up for Floyd, who will run most of his routes against the undersized Brent Grimes, who has been roasted in recent weeks. The Dolphins have been very susceptible to the run this season, but San Diego has had very little success on the ground, so expect Floyd to see a nice number of targets. He's not a cash game play, but he's a nice upside target given his price.

Stevie Johnson, Dontrelle Inman officially out vs. KC

Both Stevie Johnson and Dontrelle Inman will be inactive Sunday against the Chiefs, leaving the Chargers passing game very thin. Philip Rivers wasn't in a good spot originally, but now with Malcom Floyd, Javontee Herndon and Vincent Brown as his only healthy WRs, it may be a very long day for Rivers. Expect Antonio Gates to be the most heavily targeted member of the passing game, but Kansas City has stifled opposing TEs this season and Gates turned in his worst performance of the season (one catch for six yards) when these teams met earlier this year. Malcom Floyd is worth a look in tournaments as he'll act as the top wideout, and he does possess some deep ball upside which is a plus against the Chiefs. The big takeaway here is that the Kansas City D/ST unit is an elite play in all formats.

Stevie Johnson, Dontrelle Inman both miss Wednesday's practice

Both Johnson and Inman are very questionable at this point in the week, and it wouldn't be surprising to see both end up as inactives come Sunday. If that's the case, the WR core would be down to Malcom Floyd, Javontee Herndon, Tyrell Williams and Vincent Brown. Brown was just signed this week and he's not available on some DFS outlets, but he is familiar with the Chargers system and could step into a notable role behind Malcolm Floyd, but he wouldn't be a viable DFS target regardless. Floyd is the only real option here as a GPP target, with Antonio Gates also expected to see a decent workload considering the Chargers are expected to be trailing later in this game. The Kansas City D/ST unit is a prime target in any format this week.

Malcom Floyd active Sunday

Malcom Floyd will play Sunday and while he is likely not a DFS target and isn't even available to roster on FanDuel, this slightly decreases the value of Dontrelle Inman and Stevie Johnson. Inman likely won't see the field a ton and will slide back to his WR3 position on the Chargers depth chart and should not be considered for DFS purposes. Johnson is still a good value on both sites and still remains a good punt play vs. the Jaguars.

Malcom Floyd probable for Sunday

After missing the last three weeks, it looks like Malcom Floyd will suit up this Sunday in a good matchup vs. the Jaguars. While Floyd isn't necessarily a DFS target, in fact he's not even available on FanDuel, it slightly hurts the value of fellow receivers Stevie Johnson and Dontrelle Inman. He is averaging close to 5 targets a game, but the majority of those games featured Keenan Allen who is out for the year with a lacerated kidney. He should see close to 7 or 8 targets, however that is taking away 7 or 8 targets to their other receivers. The return of Floyd really hurts the value of Inman, as Floyd should retake his WR2 spot for the Bolts, but Stevie Johnson is still a viable option against a subpar Jaguars defense considering his price.

Malcom Floyd, Ladarius Green miss Wednesday's practice

Floyd apparently wants to play through the torn labrum in his shoulder, but it's going to be painful if he's even able to suit up. The Chargers are very shorthanded at WR right now with Keenan Allen also out of action, which leaves Stevie Johnson and Dontrelle Inman as the only healthy wideouts of note. Both (especially Johnson) are nice punt plays given the lack of depth at the position. Ladarius Green also missed Wednesday's practice, and he would benefit from the injuries to the WRs if he's healthy enough to play.

Malcolm Floyd day-to-day with shoulder injury

Floyd left Monday night's game with the injury, and with the Chargers on a bye in Week 10, he'll have time to heal up before Week 11. The Chargers are already dealing with injuries to multiple pass-catchers, so they'll need him healthy. In the event that he can't play, Dontrelle Inman and Javontee Herndon would be candidates to see more snaps, although Inman is already seeing a healthy amount of playing time with Keenan Allen out.
