Mario Chalmers Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Mario Chalmers (hamstring) available to play Saturday; Andrew Harrison (wrist) remains out
Chalmers has officially been cleared to play and will suit up for Saturday's game against the Denver Nuggets after previously being listed as questionable on the Memphis Grizzlies' injury report with a right hamstring injury that had forced him to miss six consecutive games. Meanwhile, Andrew Harrison will remain out with a right wrist injury that has kept him sidelined for nearly three weeks. Tyreke Evans returned to the starting lineup on Thursday and easily exceeded salary-based expectations in 32 minutes of action, while former fill-in starting point guard Kobi Simmons was demoted to the bench and logged only seven minutes compared to the 20 minutes allocated to Briante Weber, who was recently signed to a 10-day contract. However, with Chalmers back in the fold, Weber should see his role drastically reduced and Simmons will likely find himself out of the rotation altogether.
Tyreke Evans (rib) will start Thursday; Mario Chalmers (hamstring) remains out
Evans has officially been cleared to play and will start in Thursday's game against the Chicago Bulls after previously being listed as questionable on the Memphis Grizzlies' injury report with a right rib injury that has kept him sidelined since February 23rd, while Mario Chalmers will remain sidelined for the fifth consecutive game following his original doubtful designation on the injury report. The Grizzlies recently signed Briante Weber to a 10-day contract to provide some depth in the backcourt with Andrew Harrison still sidelined with his respective ailment, though in order to make room on the active roster, the team opted not to sign Xavier Rathan-Mayes to a second 10-day contract, making him a free agent. The return of Evans to the starting lineup will likely relegate Kobi Simmons to the bench to assume the backup point guard role in Chalmers' absence, while either Ben McLemore or Jarell Martin will likely round out the starting lineup as they've consistently done whenever Evans or Harrison are unavailable.
Mario Chalmers is active and available to play Friday
Originally listed as questionable with right ankle tendinitis Mario Chalmers has been confirmed in and ready to play for the Memphis Grizzlies tonight. There hasn’t been any further update on if Chalmers will be held to a strict minutes restriction off the bench. For now it’s safe to assume Mario Chalmers will presume his normal reserve role backing up Aaron Harrison
Chandler Parsons & Mario Chalmers ruled out Thursday, JaMychal Green, James Ennis and Deyonta Davis remain questionable
The Grizzlies will play the second end of a back to back tonight and will once again find themselves extremely thin in terms of healthy bodies as they prepare to play the Pistons on the road. Already down Tykee Evans, the team will play tonight's game without Mario Chalmers and Chandler Parsons. With JaMychal Green, Deyonta Davis and James Ennis listed as questionable to suit up and play this evening the team could potentially only have 8 healthy bodies for tonight's game. Last night vs the Pacers, the team ran a nine-man rotation with the all but one starter playing 30 plus minutes.
Mario Chalmers (hamstring), Deyonta Davis (knees), and JaMychal Green (ankle) ruled out Wednesday; Dillon Brooks (illness) and Ben McLemore (knee) available to play
Chalmers and Davis have both officially been ruled out and won't play in tonight's game against the Indiana Pacers after previously being listed as questionable on the Memphis Grizzlies' injury report with their respective ailments, while JaMychal Green will remain sidelined for the fifth consecutive game due to a sprained right ankle. Additionally, Dillon Brooks and Ben McLemore have been cleared to play and will suit up following their earlier questionable designations on the injury report. The Grizzlies are also still without James Ennis and Chandler Parsons, so Jarell Martin figures to continue starting at power forward for the duration of Green's absence and has logged 30 minutes or more in four of his last six games played, making him one of the main players to target on this depleted Grizzlies roster.
Mario Chalmers (shoulder) ruled out Saturday; Ben McLemore (knee) will start
Chalmers has been ruled out and won't play in tonight's game against the New Orleans Pelicans after previously being listed as questionable on the Memphis Grizzlies' injury report and considered a game-time decision with a right shoulder injury. Ben McLemore will play following his earlier designation of questionable on the injury report and will start at shooting guard in place of Andrew Harrison, who was already ruled out with a left shoulder injury. Additionally, Chandler Parsons, James Ennis, and Brandan Wright remain sidelined and will join Mike Conley among the other Grizzlies inactives for Saturday's contest. With Wright unavailable, Deyonta Davis will be locked in as the team's primary backup behind Gasol at center, though he had seemingly surpassed Wright in the rotation anyway, and Jarell Martin will absorb any remaining minutes Wright would have played. There will now be a plethora of playing time available on the wing and guard positions for McLemore, Dillon Brooks, and Wayne Selden with Memphis down to only 10 available players this evening.
Memphis Grizzlies Injury Report for Saturday
The Memphis Grizzlies have released their latest injury report for tonight's game against the New Orleans Pelicans and have listed Andrew Harrison, Mario Chalmers, and Ben McLemore as questionable due to their respective ailments, while Chandler Parsons, James Ennis, and Brandan Wright remain sidelined and will join Mike Conley among the Grizzlies inactives for Saturday's contest. With Wright unavailable, Deyonta Davis will be locked in as the team's primary backup behind Gasol at center, though he had seemingly surpassed Wright in the rotation anyway, and Jarell Martin will absorb any remaining minutes Wright would have played. There could also potentially be a plethora of playing time available on the wing for Dillon Brooks and Wayne Selden, especially if one, or any combination, of McLemore, Harrison, or Chalmers are unable to suit up this evening.
Increased Minutes Tonight
With Mike Conley ruled out and Andrew Harrison doubtful, Mario Chalmers becomes one of the best value plays on the slate tonight. Chalmers minutes have been all over the place lately, but he played 25 minutes against the Clippers on Tuesday. Ten of those minutes came in the fourth quarter after he checked in for Harrison. We don't have a ton of value options on the slate tonight, and Chalmers might actually become chalk on this slate because of the options. I like his chances to play 22+ minutes tonight, and he's averaging .79 fantasy points per minute with Conley, Harrison, and Parsons off the floor this season and Evans/Gasol on the floor.
Mario Chalmers (ankle), Chandler Parsons (knee), and Brandan Wright (groin) will play Friday
Chalmers, Parsons, and Wright have all been cleared to play and will suit up for tonight's game against the San Antonio Spurs after previously being listed as questionable on Memphis Grizzlies' injury report with their respective injuries that had forced them to miss Wednesday's contest, while Wright will be available to make his return following a five-game absence. With Chalmers available, Tyreke Evans will head back to the bench to resume his normal sixth-man role, though his minutes should not be expected to be affected in any way as he saw the same amount of playing time in his spot start as he normally does off the bench. With Mike Conley still sidelined with a sore left Achilles, Evans will continue to benefit from a usage standpoint, as he owns a +2.3% usage rate differential with Conley off the court this season and continues to lead the Grizzlies with a rate of 1.15 fantasy points per minute in the aforementioned scenario.
Mario Chalmers (ankle), Chandler Parsons (knee), and Brandan Wright (groin) questionable for Friday
Chalmers and Parsons have both officially been listed as questionable on the Memphis Grizzlies' injury report for tomorrow's game against the San Antonio Spurs due to their respective right ankle and right knee injuries, while Brandan Wright has been upgraded to questionable with a right groin issue that has forced him to miss five consecutive games. Chalmers' absence from the lineup was originally expected to be short-lived, as interim head coach J.B. Bickerstaff had previously confirmed that Chalmers would play on Friday night, but the organization appears to be taking a more cautious approach with him and the aforementioned players from an injury reporting standpoint at the very least. If Chalmers is unable to suit up, Tyreke Evans would draw the start at point guard for the second time in as many games but didn't end up seeing any additional playing time over his typical bench role. Obviously, we're dealing with a relatively small sample with all of the aforementioned players off the court, but Evans, Ben McLemore, James Ennis, and JaMychal Green stand to benefit the most from Chalmers potential absence, as each own at least a +3.3% usage rate differential with him, Parsons, Wright, Mike Conley, and Wayne Selden off the floor this season.
