Bears activate Alshon Jeffery; place Marquess Wilson on IR
Both moves were expected as Wilson broke his foot in practice this week and Jeffery is done serving his four-game suspension. Jeffery hasn't had a great season so far; he's scored one touchdown and only posted one game with more than five receptions. Quarterback Matt Barkley should target Jeffery quite a bit on Sunday against the Packers, but it'll be hard to trust Jeffery to put up a big fantasy day. However, Green Bay has allowed the 10th-most FanDuel points per game to wide receivers over the past four weeks and they rank 18th in pass DVOA, so it's a decent spot. Jeffery will be a risky tournament option in Week 15.
Marquess Wilson has broken foot; likely out for year
Bears Head Coach John Fox confirmed that Marquess Wilson has a broken foot - he's likely out for the year. Alshon Jeffery returns this week and becomes the top WR for the Bears along with Cameron Meredith.
Marquess Wilson downgraded to DNP Thursday
Wilson missed their last game with a groin injury but returned to a limited session yesterday. However, today he was held out entirely with a foot injury. A downgrade like this puts him more towards the doubtful side for Week 15. Even if he plays, he's not a great fantasy option. Chicago will have Alshon Jeffery back, who should soak up targets, and they have an implied team total of just 16.75 points.
Marquess Wilson and Eddie Royal are INACTIVE Sunday
Cameron Meredith and Josh Bellamy are the top two receivers for Chicago today. With Matt Barkley throwing to them, they aren't going to be great options, especially against a pass defense that's been playing well. Surprisingly, Detroit has allowed the third-fewest FanDuel points per game to wide receivers over the past four weeks. Chicago has the lowest implied total on the board at 17 points. Outside of Jordan Howard, who should have a huge workload today, it's an offense to avoid.
Marquess Wilson (groin) limited, Eddie Royal (toe) did not participate Thursday
It doesn't look like Royal this play this weekend, but Wilson has a shot after getting in a limited practice Thursday. Matt Barkley's Bears have an implied team total of 18 points. Outside of Jordan Howard there aren't many appealing fantasy options; even if Wilson plays, he won't be a good target.
Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson didn't practice Wednesday
Royal (toe) didn't play last week and seems to be on the doubtful side in Week 14. Wilson (groin) left their last game in the first half and never returned. If they miss this week, Cameron Meredith and Josh Bellamy would be the primary receivers. With Matt Barkley under center, expect the Bears to feed Howard relentlessly. Detroit's DST is in play this weekend; they've forced six interceptions over their last three games and allowed only 15.0 points per game in that stretch. Chicago has an implied team total of just 18 points, the second lowest on the board.
Josh Bellamy emerges as viable receiving threat with Marquess Wilson injury
Marquess Wilson was a DFS darling heading into Week 13 but suffered an injury early and ended up seeing only 4 snaps. This led to Josh Bellamy seeing 39 snaps (third on the team at WR behind Deonte Thompson's 45 and Cameron Meredith's 49) but was the most targeted player on the Bears with six of Matt Barkley's 18 attempts heading his way. He converted four of those for 93 yards and is a player to keep an eye on if Wilson is going to miss any time due to the injury he incurred.
Eddie Royal questionable for Bears; looks unlikely to play
Eddie Royal is listed as questionable by the Bears to play this Sunday but local beat reporters feel it is unlikely to play. He's a blip on the DFS radar, however, as Matt Barkley has clearly locked onto Marquess Wilson and Cameron Meredith as his primary options.
Marquess Wilson out for Sunday
Wilson has been ruled out for this week. Eddie Royal will step up and take the majority of the WR2 snaps assuming he plays (he is listed as questionable) and Alshon Jeffery should continue to be a target monster. However, the weather looks to be unfavorable for passing as RotoGrinders Meteorologist Kevin Roth is calling for heavy rain and high winds so proceed with caution when rostering any passing game threats from this game.
Marquess Wilson out for this weeks game
The Bears WR is out this week with a foot injury as the Bears take on the 49ers. The secondary WR options (Bellamy and Mariani) aren't in play as DFS options but Alshon Jeffery should be a target monster in a plus match up against 49ers pass defense. It also wouldn't be surprising to see Matt Forte and Jeremy Langford to be more heavily utilized in the pass game. Martellus Bennett, assuming he plays (and it appears he will), should also benefit from this news and makes for a sneaky play at TE as players will likely be off of him due to recent injury concerns and reported displeasure with his role.
