Marshawn Lynch Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Seahawks Signing Marshawn Lynch

The Seahawks are bringing back Marshawn Lynch, the 33-year-old RB that had four seasons of at least 1200 yards and 11 TDs rushing with Seattle. Lynch played for Oakland last season, rushing for 376 yards and 3 TDs over six games. Due to the injuries in Seattle's backfield, Lynch has a chance to produce right away.

Marshawn Lynch (groin) placed on IR

The Raiders have placed Marshawn Lynch (groin) on IR. This news combined with the trading of Amari Cooper today shows we will have a significantly different looking Raiders offense moving forward, with Doug Martin and Jalen Richard splitting carries out of the backfield in Lynch's absence.

Marshawn Lynch Out at least a Month

Marshawn Lynch Out at least a Month with an injury. More details on the Oakland RB timeshare to come

Marshawn Lynch (shoulder) one of four Raiders players limited in practice

This is a bit unexpected, as nothing had been reported about a Lynch injury after the running back handled 20 touches on Sunday. It's likely more of a maintenance day for Lynch and more about his status will be known later in the week. Doug Martin would see early-down work with Jalen Richard getting passing downs if Lynch were to miss time.

Giants LB Jonathan Casillas ruled out for Week 13, DT Damon Harrison questionable, RT Justin Pugh doubtful

Harrison's status is important considering he's PFF's top-graded interior defender against the run and he's posted the fifth-best run-stop rate at his position. If he's unable to suit up, it would be an upgrade for Marshawn Lynch, who played a season-high 75% of the snaps last weekend and returned his best game of the season - 110 total yards and a touchdown on 29 touches. While the Raiders mostly managed his reps all season, they're in must-win mode down the stretch sitting at 5-6. That could continue to elevate Lynch's workload going forward. He flashed two-touchdown upside two games ago and he's fifth in the league in rushing attempts inside the five-yard line. While the Giants crumbled over the past four weeks, they allowed the tenth-most PPR points to RBs and the eight-most TDs to the position (0.75/g).

Marshawn Lynch (suspension) will miss Week 8

Lynch's one-game suspension for shoving a referee was upheld Tuesday, leaving Oakland with DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard in a timeshare this weekend against the Bills. It's a tough matchup for the backs as the Bills defensive line ranks sixth in adjusted line yards (3.59, per PFF) and they've given up the fifth-fewest PPR points to the position. Buffalo also has a strong secondary - they're third in pass DVOA - but S Jordan Poyer and CB E.J. Gaines are both considered week-to-week. If they're sidelined, the Raiders will likely have more success going to the air.

DeAndre Washington, CB David Amerson, and CB Gareon Conley inactive for Week 5

RG Gabe Jackson is also inactive. The Raiders will use T.J. Carrie and Sean Smith as their top two corners this afternoon. The former is currently PFF's 18th-ranked corner and the latter is 58th. With Washington out, the reports regarding Marshawn Lynch seeing an increased workload have a better chance of coming to fruition. With E.J. Manuel under center, the 2-2 Raiders are expected to lean on their solid offensive line - which features a top-14 graded run-blocker at each position (per PFF) - and their running game. Fortunately for the Raiders, the Ravens will be without DT Brandon Williams, who’s a major part of their run defense. Over the past two weeks without him, they’ve allowed 169.5 rushing yards per game and Le’Veon Bell posted 144 yards and two TDs last Sunday. While that type of performance may be out of Lynch’s reach, he’s just $5.1k on DraftKings and we’re projecting 5.0% ownership. Fantasy players will likely shy away due to his current volume issues – 45.2% of the snaps 53.6% of the carries – and terrible 12-yard outing against the Broncos last week. However, Denver is the top rushing defense in DVOA (per FO), yards per game (50.8), and adjusted line yards per carry (2.53) while the Baltimore ranks 17th, 25th (127.3), and 11th (3.85), respectively. If Lynch gets his expected workload boost and finds his rhythm, he could crush his salary, which makes him an interesting GPP target.

Marshawn Lynch expected to see a "heavy dose" of touches Week 5

With E.J. Manuel under center, the 2-2 Raiders are expected to lean on their solid offensive line - which features a top-14 graded run-blocker at each position (per PFF) - and their running game, per Eddie Paskal of Raiders.com. If Lynch gets a workload boost and finds his rhythm, he could crush his salary, which makes him an interesting GPP target.

Ravens DT Brandon Williams (foot) and TE Maxx Williams ruled out for Week 5, as expected

Williams is a huge part of the Ravens rush defense and his absence will provide an upgrade for Marshawn Lynch as it did for Le'Veon Bell last week. The issue with Lynch is volume. He's accounted for 53.6% of the team's carries as Oakland continues to use a three-man backfield with Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington. It seems like it's an attempt to make sure Lynch is can stay healthy the whole season and have something left in the tank for the postseason. However, with the Raiders sitting at 2-2 and third in their division, they need to make sure they win enough games to make it there. With E.J. Manuel expected to start at quarterback against one of the best pass defenses in the league, the Raiders may need to lean on Lynch more than they have so far this season. Fortunately, the Ravens offense is completely inept and the Raiders are still favored with their backup QB. If their defense holds, Lynch should have positive game flow and if it stays close, he could see plenty of snaps over Richard and Washington. Coming off a terrible Week 4 performance against the Broncos in which he rushed for 12 yards and only played 23 snaps, he's hardly trustworthy, but he may be worth a look as a GPP option given the situation.

Ben Watson (calf), Maxx Williams (ankle), DT Brandon Williams (foot), and CB Jimmy Smith (Achilles) aren't practicing Thursday

None of them practiced Wednesday either. Brandon Williams is a key part of their run defense. He's expected to be out again, which will be a boost for Marshawn Lynch. Smith has been their best cover corner this season. His absence would help Amari Cooper the most, but the receiver will still have E.J. Manuel throwing to him, which makes it tough to believe he can take produce if Smith is out. Watson is still tentatively expected to play Sunday - he played last week despite missing practice. He'll be taking on an Oakland defense that currently ranks dead last in TE DVOA. Guys like Vernon Davis (5/58/1) and A.J. Derby (4/75/1) have been successful against them and Delanie Walker led the Titans with seven receptions and 76 yards in Week 1. Although Baltimore's offense has been inefficient as a whole, Watson has been performing well, hauling in 16-of-18 passes and leading the team with 146 receiving yards. In a favorable spot against the Browns, he took advantage, catching eight passes for 91 yards, and will look to repeat that type of success in another friendly matchup this weekend.
