Unprecedented Injuries on Defense Core

I'm not sure I've ever seen a position group go through the number of injuries that the Boston Bruins' defensemen have endured this season. Zdeno Chara is the latest to be added to the list, and he joins Charlie McAvoy, Kevan Miller, Brandon Carlo, and Urho Vaakanainen on the injury report. There will be a lot of fresh faces for the Bruins, and the prices (other than Krug) don't reflect the increased roles they'll be playing. Matt Grzelcyk and Jeremy Lauzon are the default number one pair, and make for nice punt options at cheap salaries.

Multi-goal potential for this trio once again

Patrice Bergeron and the Boston Bruins visit Vancouver tonight. The line of Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, and David Pastrnak, has dominated possession with a CF% of 56.71 so far this season. Vancouver ranks 30th in the league in CF%. The Bergeron line isn’t tasked with shutting down the opponents’ top line on the road, allowing them to be more offensive minded. To top it off, Vancouver has been deploying their young superstar Brock Boeser against visiting team’s top lines. When Boeser and Horvat are on the ice together, they have posted a 40.41 CF% this season. They won’t come cheap, but this line has multi-goal upside once again tonight. Matt Grzelcyk is still moderate to low priced across the industry, and makes for an elite addition to the stack and a great play in all formats as he’s playing on the top power play unit.
