Mike Wright Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Even without Bautista, Toronto lineup looks strong (176 wRC+ last seven days)
Even without Jose Bautista tonight, this Toronto lineup (176 wRC+ last seven days) looks strong. Mike Wright has allowed RHBs a .341 wOBA and LHBs a .405 wOBA since last season. This is a pitcher the Blue Jays should punish in Baltimore. Donaldson and Encarnacion (both 140+ wRC+ and .260+ ISO vs RHP since 2015) are your mainstays. Encarnacion may be the hottest hitter in the league (377 wRC+, 55 Hard% last seven days), while Michael Saunders (143 wRC+, .214 ISO) should pick up some of the slack (267 wRC+, .58.8 Hard% last seven days). Those are three top overall bats tonight. After beating up one of the better pitchers in the league this year last night, they should do the same to a much lesser pitcher tonight.
Mike Wright has allowed a .410 career wOBA to LHBs
Stack up your Cleveland LHBs at the top of the order tonight. Starter Mike Wright has allowed a .410 career wOBA against them (178 PAs). He has just a 6.7 SwStr% with an ERA and estimators all well above four. Cleveland has one of the higher run projections outside of Coors tonight (4.7) with three standout lefties right at the top. Carlos Santana (121 wRC+, .220 ISO vs RHP since 2015) and Jason Kipnis (145 wRC+, .169 ISO vs RHP since 2015) lead the way. Neither are cheap, but could cover the price if the Tribe hits it's run projection. Francisco Lindor (110 wRC+, .131 ISO vs RHP) is a bit of a tougher call for nearly $5K on DraftKings, but at a tougher position. The rest of the Cleveland bats are much cheaper and with Wright's .315 wOBA against RHBs, nobody needs to be avoided if players feel a stack is in order here, though Rajai Davis back in the 9th spot for nearly $4K might not make much sense.
Wright has allowed .410 wOBA to LHBs, but Angels have just one in top six
Mike Wright has an ERA over five with estimators just a bit better. He really gets pummeled by LHBs (.410 wOBA), but the Angels don't have many of those besides Calhoun (113 wRC+ vs RHP since 2015) leaving Mike Trout (175 wRC+, .297 ISO vs RHP) with the offensive load. He's one of the top overall and most expensive bats tonight. Albert Pujols (116 wRC+, .221 ISO vs RHP) has been hot as well (180 wRC+, 41.7 Hard% last seven days).
Mike Wright has shown he can give up the long ball to both sides of the plate
Through the beginning of last year and 69 innings , Mike Wright has a HR/9 of 1.97 vs. LHB and 1.22 vs. RHB. This susceptibility to allowing power is accompanied by strikeout rates of 14-15% against batters on both sides of the plate. This good news for all the A's who will be enjoying a park upgrade today, batting in Oriole Park in Camden Yards instead of the spacious Oakland Coliseum. Khris Davis being a righty should keep his ownership down while he gets the opportunity to swing against Mike Wright in the 3rd best power-hitting environment for right-handed batters.
Mike Wright owns a career 13.7K%
Mike Wright owns a career 13.7%K, 5.05 SIERA and 5.49 xFIP. He’s definitely not a pitcher to roster, and it would probably be a good idea to have some exposure to a few CWS bats tonight. With a Vegas projected run line total of just under 4, the White Sox are expected to put a few runs on the board this evening. Jose Abreu (.380 wOBA - .238 ISO – 144 wRC+ career vs RHP) represents one of the top 1B plays on the board tonight and should have no problem hitting Wright. Realistically, any of the 1-4 White Sox batters are in play and could be a sneaky GPP stack tonight.
